I got a similar call from a unknown number whoever it was said he was shy and he knows im an amusing person his username was ppokitou19982.datetesauna.com.. i never registered to see who it was i just msged back saying "fuk off!" and the msgs stopped :)

I got one too...mines from "mailover7.datesauna.com" and it said:

hey! A freind gave me ur # and I hear you're sorta fine person. My username online is mailover7, but I'm a bit shy, so I don't wanna let you know who I am yet.  Soo, if you're interested, come find me at mailverover7.datesauna.com.

and I'm mad at whoever sent it cause they woke me up :S haha

Like everyone else I got the similar message.  I also have Telus.  my message was sent at 4:20.

"Hello, I friend gave me your number and I here you're sorta likable person.  My username online is maryloube1197, but i am a little shy, do I dont wanna tell you who I am yet.  So, if ur interested come find me at martloube1197.  match-hop.com"

Got a text last night:

"Holla. a pal gaveme ure # & i hear you're sorta fine person. My name online is psychocutie_p080, but i am somewhat shy, so I don't wanna tell you who i am just yet. so, if you're interested, come find me at psychocutie_p080.match-hop.com."

Reading all of your posts..I am with Telus as well.
There was no callback number..the message came from 6245.

What can we do..our numbers are out there folks (no matter how private we keep them)...if I get another one, I will be contacting Telus to see if they can track it.

My friend got a text message saying (exactly) :

Her cell service provider is Telus and there was no return number, caller id or caller company.

I googled teeny4 and found this;

the number [6416912937] seems to orignate from a site called
www.datepit.net, it automatically redirects you to friendjungle.com
so there looking for customers to scam off

So thats probably where these messages come from.. How they got all these numbers I have no idea, it may be at random though...

Also to add:
Must be a problem with Telus.
It seems to be a big issue with people subscribed to Telus

no lie that's the message word for word..i knew it was none of my friends...cause they can spell,make sense when they speak/text and they would not give out my number. for some reason though the numbers in the message are blue..not sure why. gonna give telus a call right now..

I got a message May 4th 2008 saying a friend of mine gave this person my number and that I'm a lovely person but they're shy and want me to check out their profile (hope0707) to see if I'm interested. It seemed odd, though, that I wasn't shown any number to reply to (if I had wanted) so I assumed it was spam or blocked. I've looked this up online and apparently its a spam message that slipped through the cracks of wireless carriers.

i have been getting alot of strange texts messages, got the hope0707 one and other are texting me as if i just text them, some dude called me today asking who i was cause i've been texting him. anyone else get call backs about texts never sent?

i am with telus, i think they should have some sort of record as to where these messages are coming from. if someone is using the telus site to send text they can be sent with no callback. but telus should be able to tell us where the messages are origionating.

My boyfriend got the same type of message yesterday. It was from "wanna" it said, Hey got your number from  a friend, come see if you recognize me. Then a second message said bet you won't recognize me, come check me out, hope to see you soon. I think it was from love pile.net or love plaza.net VERY WEIRD. He is not a telus customer, he uses verizon. Can someone relate???

I got the message on May 4 same as everyone else saying "I'm a likeable person etc."  I'm also with telus. Someone must be bored!

I got the same pookitou19982 - but I'm Fido...so it has nothing to do with the phone company...  Probably just random numbers they're using...same as with email spam...

I am a Fido customer and I received this message today from Hope0707 as well. I do not think that this person can target specifically male or female because they don't know who you are. They ae most likely trying to drive taraffic to their website by mis-representing themselves to you.
