Just got a call from this number said he was with a Medicare service calling about my lower back and knee pain.He then asked me if I had back and knee pain!Really??You said that is why you were calling.I just hung up!I am not discussing my health with a stranger over the phone that could break in to steal pain meds they think I may have.IF YOU ARE WITH MEDICARE YOU SHOULD KNOW IF I HAVE THESE ISSUES DUMMY!

Called at 9:34 a.m. on 02/18/16. Left no message.

She called me for the same thing. I wondered from the start if it was a scam and after a bit I told her if I needed a brace I would talk to my Dr., thanked her, said goodbye and hung up.

this number is calling my mothers house saying my brother who passed away 2 years ago has requested health insurance info. extremely upsetting!

DNC  violation, but my primary concern was that it was a solicitation to refer me to a medicare provider for back/knee braces. I strung along and was connected with a rep for "DME Hotline" (Durable Medical Equipment). He refused to give any other identifying info. Guessed (correctly) that I might report him to FCC, FTC, Medicare. Obviously not legit. Do not give them any info and report them if possible.

Caller ID showed New York  NY. No message left, they call me daily now even though I do not answer.

Woman with strong Russian accent and very non-Russian name called to pitch some sort of Medicare-related senior services.  I did not provide any information and immediately terminated the conversation.

Identified them as Medicare senior services representative saying I could qualify for assistance with any medical needs. Asked about my husband (by name) but hung up when I told her we didn't use Medicare yet. I'm never honest with them. Spin a tale and they hang up.

No identification other than the phone number.  Did not answer and they left no message.

Second issue -- are we getting spammed by this 800Notes website?  This site currently displays links for four other websites, all of which deal with Medicare and/or knee pain.  Someone is BEING ALLOWED TO use the contents of these complaints to try to market the exact same scammy products that the illegal phone marketers are trying to sell us.

What is going on?  Who is policing this website -- or possibly selling website links to spammers?

This number said out of area and said was from the Treasury.  Said this was a second attempt to contact and that to ignore would be a federal offense, as this was in regards to a criminal action.  The voice was a American male voice.

People wouldn't be reporting scam calls here if some scammers were not already calling people with the scams. And most times the names/numbers being displayed on the caller ID are spoofed - they're not real and are not the number the scammer is actually calling from.

Many times the calls have been happening long before someone opened a number reporting entry on this site and since you posted almost a month after someone started a report on this number that could mean millions of people were called with a robo-caller before your home was.

As far as someone trying to use this site to scam people by including links to scam sites, that could potentially happen so be aware. This site allows anyone to report issues.
I don't work for the site in any way but have used it for years. I believe they do scan new posts for embedded links and most times do not immediately approve the post until the links can be looked at. That may not be 100%, I can't say. But again, as with any website - ALWAYS use your brain and never click on links if they look suspicious and that includes when you do a Google or Bing search also. Scammers can also try to post here in an attempt to try to make people believe a number isn't being used by a scammer. If everyone is complaining and you see 1 post saying no, it's really OK, well....

The simple fact is
- never talk to anyone on the phone about a product you have not called them about previously,
- never donate money to someone over the phone unless you can verify they are a legitimate charity first,
- never give anyone identification info of any kind unless you have called someone yourself and are NOT responding to a cold call message left,
- never pay "debts" over the phone if someone you do not know has called you - legit debt collection companies must mail a paper copy of all debt info to you first and you have 30 days after receiving it to respond,
- never talk to the "IRS" or treasury department about paying taxes - the IRS ALWAYS mails letters to taxpayers about such matters,
- never pay fines for yourself or anyone else to an unknown person over the phone when they call you and demand immediate payment before you can make your own calls to verify anything they have said,

- or more simply, just never talk to people you do not know about personal info or make payments to them.

And if you can, block the number so you don't have to deal with your phone ringing again from a known scammer. That's what I do and I have averaged adding about 15 new numbers each month over the last 16 months since I got a new phone.

This New York number showed up on my caller id and a lady with an accent asked for my husband by name. I said he wasn't available then she asked if I was the wife and just simply hung up on me. So annoying and rude. Will continue to block these calls.
