Call claiming to be an IRS officer for IRS fraud.

Why does this number keep calling me. The officer says he is from the IRS. I thought the IRS had a 800 number. I also thought if you did however owe money they send you a letter in the mail first.

I have received two phone calls within a day. This caller claims to be an Officer for the IRS basically. It doesn't even sound like a REAL person. Sounds like an automated robot. Basically threatening as well. "He" claims to be part of the fraud department.

Just got a call from this number, left a voicemail saying that I have fraudulent activity on my taxes and do not disregard message "or else" it will be taken as offense from my side. The message didn't even include my name, but said the officer is Ryan Smith from IRS. The whole message was an automated recording.

Claiming to be IRS rep. but its a robo call.

I just received the same automated call saying the same thing.  Thanks for your post.

I just got this call...9/18/ 2017  as well.  Looks like its a scam.  makes me fell better

Same call ... claimed.to be IRS. Has anyone actually answered one of these calls? I'm curious what they said.

I just received a call from a scammer and they had me on the phone for 46 minutes.  I hope they get caught and condemned!  Horrible feeling!

My husband called back. The heavily accented person on the other end claimed to be an IRS agent named Ricky Tanner, gave a badge number. Also said he had a case file number on us and that we owed over $4,000. If we didn't comply, they would turn our case over to local police. My husband told him to go ahead and turn it over. The guy got flustered and  asked if he really wanted to be arrested. When my husband said sure, the guy asked if he was an old person, then hung up.

Just got this call 15 minutes ago. Same info as other posts. I hope this scammer gets caught!

I called back and spoke to Ricky Tanner also.  Said I was willfully defrauding the govt on my taxes from 2012-2016 and I owed $3921.00.  As soon as we were off he was going to refer me to the Florida police department.  I told him Florida is a big place - which city?  He said he couldn't discuss any specific personal information.  He threatened that I could be arrested and if I lose against the IRS in court I would have to pay $25,000.
Very weird and after finding comments here I just told him to send the police and hung up.
