Pretty good clue that it's not legit: Caller ID said "Unassigned." Hung up on answering machine.

Just received a call from this number. There was no message

Unassigned as caller i.d.  Scammers.

3/27 CID 'New York NY' - several rings, disconnect, no msg - typical scam call pattern - from above posts old back brace, etc. scam - Numbers: 203-437-7659, 210-519-0298, 302-900-8821, 718-213-4425, 516-246-2820, 718-475-6471, 646-434-5540, 914-331-6680, 646-517-5407/7198

I got a call from this number at 12:01 PM EST. Caller id says unassigned. I always do a web search to see who the number belongs to. I do not order any thing from a telemarketer or robo caller. If I ever need anything medical I will buy it from a local pharmacy.

This is an IDENTITY THEFT and MEDICARE/MEDICAID FRAUD SCAM.  I picked up silently only because we have family and business interests in NYC. An **ILLEGAL** pre-recorded msg immediately started and played twice stating this was the 'requested return call' to me about a back brace.  Asked to 'press one to be connected to a representative' and 'press 2 if you no longer are interested in this requested information.'

Its also quite possible that if you did 'wish to speak to a rep' they would try and get you to say 'yes' to some question so as to record you saying that, then insert that into an alternate script making it look like you agreed to buy something from them.  Then, even without your name or financial info they charge you - on your phone bill.  Best to SAY NOTHING, hang up & BLOCK if you can.

Also, same exact call from a 'sister' number:  646-517-**5663**; called less than two weeks ago.

Same as the others, a recorded message telling me I had inquired about a back brace and qualified for a free one with my Medicare. First I don't have Medicare or Medicaid, second, I did not request info on any medical device. This is an attempt to scam Medicare recipients and the government/tax payers. I hope the public isn't falling for this and allowing them to charge our Medicare system with this theft. The caller ID showed Unassigned. This is horrible!

Same as above folks.  Report this phone number (646-517-7198) & others to the "Do Not Call Registry" Complaint Department.  The more we report these charlatans to the proper authorities the sooner we get these charlatans (scumbags) out of business or whatever they deserve.  Thank you.

The 'do not call registry' cannot do anything about this.  These calls are purely criminal activity.  I often wonder how they sucker these foreign agents to conduct such calls.  Do they really believe they have a legitimate job?

Our phone number is on the di not call list, however we keep getting these type of calls. When these calls come in, they always hand up one the answering machine.

Scam - I do not answer.  Call from this number today 29 March 2017.

This phone number has called a minimum of 4 times per day since Mon., the 27th. Like others, I don't answer the phone when I don't recognize the number. The caller id also showed as Unassigned.

One new thing these scam callers are doing: When you don't answer the phone, and have an answering machine/voice mail, they'll hang up at the first sound of it, and then re-dial your number. This happened so far this morning with this number and another number that calls continuously.

A hesitant human asked for me by (last) name and said she was calling for "Something"Care. I couldn't understand what she said and said "who".  At that point she apologized for bothering me and hung up.

Showed message but none there.

How can we stop this harassment for back brace calls? They call at all hours of day and night.
