- MARYNo message, as usual! I get so many calls, also.! Sickening!
- Caller: NY
- nickno message
- ae2e5| 1 replyI also received a call from this number, and did not pick up. I have also turned off my answering machine. With caller ID, I can see the number that called me, if I don't recognize it, I delete it. Telemarketing scammers have absolutely ruined the phone system in this country. I don't care what you, or the government, may try to do to stop it.........someone will always be willing to sell phone numbers to these people. All you can do is block the number, and don't answer the rest.
- rickcalled left no message Sick
- Geronimol turn off the answer recorder when I don't recognize the number I don't block any numbers because there are so many they would just fill up the blocker the scammers just change numbers all the time anyway someday somebody will figure a way to really solve this problem so just stay patient.
- daisyjust got the call. no message left.

- Smarter Than The Thieving Scammers replies to Carol| 3 repliesWell, I *did* 'get the message!" Caller ID said "New York, NY." We have family there; I'm always concerned it may be a hospital or someone calling with important news. So, I picked up *silently* & just listened. Immediately a(n) (ILLEGAL) pre-recorded message began in a 'soothing' "American" woman's voice saying:
"This is the return call you requested about the back brace you saw on TV that is covered by your insurance. Press 1 now to be connected to an agent; press 2 if you are no longer interested." I pressed nothing; after a 5 second pause the recording went on to repeat itself. Waited another 10 seconds (in silence) then it disconnected the call.
This is a very sophisticated MEDICARE scam, that, while the calls may be coming from Overseas, I truly believe there are FILTHY RICH Americans behind these scams. It costs $ to pay for what sounds like a very professional voiceover artist to record this message; and it was a high quality recording. It costs $ to mine data, and set up the equipment to robodial. It costs $$ to hire Overseas Call Centers to do your dirty work for you. And it takes a sophisticated Scammer to collect and deposit the MEGA proceeds from this scam and avoid capture.
While I never initiated this contact, I HAVE seen the commercials on Cable TV for these scams; these commercials hawk back, knee & neck braces with a Toll Free number to call, but you NEVER see any legit Business Name in these commercials. And, even though I DID NOT respond to these ads, our CABLE PROVIDER (TWC/COMCAST) *does* have our name, address, phone number and probably other personal info (like DOB) to provide to 'third party business associates," as their fine print disclosures say, which, they also say, you cannot 'opt out' of.. So, by signing up for cable you are impliciting agreeing to be subject to these SCAMS.
I strong belieive this is one scam that the Big Boys in the Cable Industry are participating in, Big Time. This is how the Rich get richer, and then we wonder why Medicare is going broke. WHOM in our government is being PAID OFF to look the other way???? - OhioMultiple calls...no messages, always hang ups
- CeeCalled, no message, assume scammer
- Danny WirtschaftA recording responded to the answering machine, but it came-on in mid-stream and cut-off before the machine's recording-time ran-out. The words "covered by your insurance," were used. The speaker making the recording was female.
- Caller: New York, NY
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Larrypiece of crap scum calling for no reason. will not answer on call back
- Caller: unk will no talk
- Wyoming replies to Smarter Than The Thieving ScammersI just received the same call. I never made a call about a chair.
- JimA message was left by a female, who claimed she was from Bank of America. She left a callback number of 877-488-7730, a number, which has been also shown on this forum to be illegitimate.
The Message said they were open until 11 PM, I don't care if they never close.- Caller: BOA ?
- Call type: Telemarketer
- z replies to Smarter Than The Thieving ScammersGive me enough time and I will be able to randomly call your #. Or, your # might be the 1st # I ever call. If I connect I don't know who you are and where you live when I connect. I'm just fishing with dynamite.
Mine data? Only if you are stupid enough to give them a reason.
You'd think they would also mine data me when I get ahold of a person on the other end and them to go F**k themselves. I would think a "Go F**k yourself" would be a legitimate data point in NOT wasting their time calling over and over again. Why call someone who is belligerent when the person they call is on record as hostile to what they are offering?
I guess the sophisticated scammers aren't that sophisticated.
