It's a scam, they tried the same thing with me and wanted me to pay $5000.00 to settle by using my credit card.
Funny thing is I gave them a phoney name and they never ask for any pertinent info to relate me to my taxes.
The guy is a dirt bag, ignore him or tell him that your sleeping with his wife or something.

They left voice mail stating that I am being sued by the IRS and it was the final notice. I have never received anything in the mail. I pay my taxes and don't make enough to be sued by the IRS.

I got a voice mail message stating that I am being sued by the IRS and it was the final notice. I have never received anything in the mail. Of course when I heard this, my heart skipped a beat. But then I realized that the IRS would never contact me this way. They know where I live because I pay taxes, and they would send me a letter of notification. SCAM!

We received the same voice mail, a couple of times to our land line and once to my cell phone, saying IRS is filing a lawsuit against us.  We knew it was a SCAM because we know IRS will never contact individuals by phone regarding such things, but are tired of getting the phone calls.  I am checking with IRS to find out how to report the scam.

I received a scam call from 646-558-5543 saying it was the IRS stating they were filing a lawsuit against me and to call back to get information on the lawsuit.
Per the IRS  agents I have talked with the IRS will not call with that type of message.  They are required to always send taxpayers via mail notification regarding any type of action being brought against the taxpayer

Rubbish. You did nothing of the sort--and the OIG is hot on your trail---"Alex":

There are numerous telephone and email scams in which individuals claim to be employees of the Treasury Department. These scammers often state that they are from the “Department of Legal Affairs,” offer grant money in exchange for you wiring a small payment, or threaten to arrest you within a short period of time unless payment is made. Do not provide personal information or payment to these individuals.  Their actions are crimes under Titles 18 and 31 of the United States Code, and the Treasury Office of Inspector General is working to stop them.

If they claim to be from Treasury, report  it to OIGCounsel@oig.treas.gov with a description.  If it was a phone contact, include:
the exact date and time that you received the call(s)
the phone number of the caller
the geographic location and time zone where you received the call
    a description of the communication.

If they claim to be from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or it is about taxes, report it to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at:
    https://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml

I got the same call twice about six months apart.
First I get a recording that says to call this number that I'm about to be arrested for non-payment of tax and then I a guy who has a foreign accent and he says I can settle the debt for $5,000 I gave him a phony name he didn't ask for a social security number or and address and he called on Memorial Day.
I call him on his BS and I told him 2 suck my you know what and that he was a Flippin crook and he got really really rude with me.
He says his name is Officer Robin Cooper and the guy is a low-life dirtbag.
first of all the IRS does not have an open number that you can just call and talk to someone and secondly they would not call on Memorial Day and thirdly they would send you a notice by mail and finally this guy did not ask for any relevant information that would tie me into any tax information the guy's a creep, he says I can settle the debt by using a credit card and all is done would love to get into the ring with him with some boxing gloves on I would punch his cotton picking head in and make him think twice about stealing from people I can't believe there are actually people out there that would steal from people like that.
I hope he reads this you know who I am  you flipping rotten this is Network terrorism disregard this ridiculous call.
