They call and say they're from the IRS and that there is a warrant against your name.  When you call back, they don't even know your name. I got somebody with a foreign accent and she clearly read from a script. I gave her a false name and she told me that I owed money to the IRS and I would be arrested within the hour.  When I told them that I had a brother in the local police department they couldn't get off the phone fast enough. It's a scam, the IRS doesn't call you to tell you about being arrested, they send you something in the mail and work with you.

Same. Its a scam its the exact same one, they called me, my parents and my grandmother so if you get a phone call from 646-580-1954 From New York, It's a scam

Any chance the authorities will take action?  I didn't think so.

I got a call today from a lady stating the same thing and it did sound like she was reading from a script. she also told me the same thing about being arrested, but little did she know I have a CPA that does my taxes, so what she was saying did not frightening me at all. I laughed told her to send me something in writing and hung up...

Call from # 646-580-1913 claiming in voicemail that we have been indicted for tax fraud!  Whatever!  Indian who answered the phone could barely speak English - yeah right - US Treasury.

The number they called me from was 646-000-1111. They said I was to receive $9,000.00 from the government and I could to do whatever I wanted with it. All I had to do was call 646-580-1913 and give them the confirmation number that he gave me to claim the money.  Don't fall for it. I never called.
