i GOT A TEXT FROM THIS NUMBER RE: A suzuki outboard motor I have listed for sale. I responded that it was still for sale and 30 secs later received a text from the same number  asking about  a Landa commercial pressure washerlso have for sale.  This area code is from New York and I am in WA state  the next text will be asking me if they are in good cond and  if I will accept paypal for payment they will tell me that  their shipper will pick up item  once I receive payment then will tell me they need me to western union the shipper payment which they will include with payment for item when I ask why they dont send the shipper payment themselves they will tell me they are in the military and not allowed to do anything other than paypal.  paypal will never receive a payment from them but I will get notices of payment received claiming to be from paypal

Hey I got the same, Im selling my Nissan Sentra SER for $5500. They texted me back asking Whats the condition and why am i selling it, Whats the price and asking if i have any offers yet. FUNNY thing is as soon as i Texted a big text to them took 30 sec for them to text me If its ready for pick up and asking me if i have paypal. I mean first read the text then make a chose insted i think they have pre loaded texts, I say its a scam be ware. they said as soon as the payment clears the they will pick it up.

I JUST got the same exact texts for my side by side I'm selling.  The guy said his name was Luke Peterson and asked the SAME questions.  I told him I didn't have a Paypay account and he became VERY pushy wanting to know when I would be home to get one set up and even told me how to do it.  He said that he wanted to have the shipping company come pick it up Tuesday and when I told him I worked in a bank and worked all day that they couldnt come until the evening he said well he would have to talk to me later because his phone was all of a sudden going crazy.  Funny thing is he was sending me texts back like crazy before I sent that one.  I felt this might be a scam so started to check it out and see what I could find out.  Please be ware of this number and person!!!

Total scammer!! I got a text from this number about 5 minutes after posting an ad on Craigslist for my dirtbike. He asked all the same questions as the previous posters said, then starting getting pushy about PayPal. We don't have PayPal but he kept insisting we set one up. I started getting suspicious, so I googled the area code. Saw it was from New York. We live in tx. So I asked why he couldn't just bring payment when he picked up the bike, and how did he intend on getting it. He said he could have it shipped to him if I would let him pay via PayPal. Got even more suspicious, so I googled the whole number and found this site. I texted him that I would not sell him the bike and he asked why. I sent him screenshots of the comments on this page and another page, and told him because he was a scammer and that if he ever contacted me again, I would alert the authorities. He stopped texted me after that. I am still going to contact the authorities anyway. So beware of this guy!!! He is a total scammer!!!!!!!

I had the same situation happen.   They texted me at 11pm, and asked a lot of questions about my car. Acted very interested, and then asked if I had a Paypal. WHen I said I didn't have one, he quickly texted all the steps to sign up for one. He provided the same name- Patterson Luke. With it being an unusual name, I decided to google it, and luckily I found this post and a few others. His email address is listed on other sites as maclauren2005@yahoo.com

Got the same texts, but started messing with them once it was obviously a scam.  I asked them to call me if they were serious.  They responded with "am having hearing disability I can't do that am so sorry"  at to which I responded with "Well then please don't be offended when I state that this sounds like a scam and please don't bother texting any more."  Seriously, hearing disability with a cell phone.

They claim to have a hearing disability so you won't call them and hear their real voices (and accents).

Yes, she's mad at the scammers!  And I'll bet you're one of them!
