I keep getting calls from this number, but when I answer the phone no one is there...please stop calling me

I have been getting calls from this number frequently and no one was ever there until today. They say they are a mortgage company that will help you modify your mortgage and they work for government but when i asked them there name they can't tell you and none of them speak very good english. I was yelled at by the second person when he was asked a question so i hung up.Sounds like a scam.

I am receiving calls from this number BEFORE 8:00am.  This morning was 7:48am. If this is a creditor or solicitor, is there a way to report them for calling before hours?

As far as I am concerned not much but I know this according to the FCC somehow we are protected by the law but not much so far there is a law for these creditors not to bother you before 8:45AM and after 9:50PM, BUT you can corner them by  I have done it a lot) simply asking them politely for their names and the address and without pausing I say "the attorney general would be very happy to talk to you" , what I hear after is "click". Go figure. Since there is not much there will be others, and sometimes the same phone number (6465833119) creeps up on you, but I ask the same thing politely. Good luck. "g[j]eemaucks" to think about doing again, At any rate contact the FCC, Attorney General and maybe the Beter Business Bureau although the latter one is no much help. That's my opinion.

Oh by-the-way Owen I forgot to mention, the other thing I have used is once the phone number has made various trys to my home phone I looked up the number through the internet or simply Google it and sooner t comes up with a map of its proximities, and when I called back I say " Gee folks I am sorry I missed your call earlier but I just wanted you to ask "how is the weather at that part of New York" or New Jersey, one other I came accross was in Nigeria somewhere for that one I said "Oh by-the-way we are watching you".

P.S. Just think of something to say, you got the ball in your court and have FUN with these Scammers. After a while you just feel a little better. By all means make contact with the FCC, the A.General's Office and the B.B.B. as I have mentioned before.
