- Sam| 1 replyRecieved a call from this number. Voice Message left. "Caller" clearly started talking before the voicemail 'beep' because the message was partially cut off. Person claimed to be Officer Gibbon Anderson, said there was an issue that was very time sensitive and to call the number. Stated that if I didn't call back all he could do was "wish me good luck at this situation unfolds on me." Very sketchy.
- JohnDidn't answer the unknown number, but left a voicemail, indicating that if he didn't hear from me or my attorney, he wishes me luck and the situation unfolds on me. Indian accent.
- In OhioSame call as the 4 above. Creepy.
- NY with SC numbersame as above. Used my work phone to return call. busy signal then "your call did not go through."
Sketchy to say the least. - Abby| 1 replySame thing as above, call officer back, our he wishes me and my attorney good luck. I immediately added the number to my blocked calls on the app Blacklist Plus.
- tonyreceived a call from this person as well and he threatened that I was going to be in trouble he said he was from the IRS and I needed my attorney to call or for me to call or he apologizing for anything that will happen to me
- GO| 2 repliesSame as above post from Abby about him being an officer but otherwise very similar to all the others. The call just came in at 4:20 PM CST. The question is the common link between us where they got our numbers. I typically do not get these sort of calls to my work cell number. The tone of it sounded more of a threatening matter of fact tone. Again, very sketchy to say the least and probably the most of any of these sort of calls ever received by me personally. Not calling back and next time I will capture more details. Going to see whom I can report this to such as IRS.
- PJRSame exact message. I received message at 11:50am EST. Did not call back. Please post if we need to report this to authorities.
- unsureI received the same phone call, the person started talking immediately, had a thick accent, i could not understand much of what they said (I think it was a man's voice? hard to make out). i did hear them say something about getting in touch with my attorney or legal counsel. I called the # back, it rang once & then i received a busy tone.
- OhioSame as above only one question who is your cell phone carrier? Verizon
- NE ohioSame as all above! Claiming to be an officer left a message the same as everyone else. Odd to say the least. I have T-Mobile so not the same carriers
- CWG40 replies to GO| 1 replyTotal scam. Originates in either India or Pakistan. Ignore and block the calls.

I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone. US mail only. IRS does not file lawsuits. Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter. But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes. IRS has no powers of arrest. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of money. IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case. No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments. Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement. All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals. All contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.
. - krobI recieved a phone call from this number stating they were an Officer Jason Williams with the IRS and I needed to contact them or my attorney or else I would be very sorry. I called the number back and they have the nerve to answer, "this is the IRS". I asked several times who I was speaking with and finally the man became agrumentative and said f-ing moron, your speaking to a f-ing moron. He had a thick accent of some sort. How or where do I report this. You can not impersonate an Officer of the law and leave people harassing voicemails!
- LB in CalilforniaJust now at 2.45PM on 06/15/2015, received the same call as the others. Did not call back . I knew immediately its a hoax. His accent was Vietnamese.

I blocked the number and saved the VM! This is a threat! Isnt that illegal? Who can we report this too? The number stated on my caller ID was out of NY.
