someone claiming to be an IRS officer said they were sending an officer to arrest me within 20 minutes when my attorney called it back he asked for a badge # and the person gave a # but when asked what IRS office he was calling from the person hung up. Indian accent for sure.

Received same call saying from IRS how do I report this person

Guy calls me from "IRS" and is telling me I am under investigation and when I start getting upset and questioning as to why I'm being investigated, he never would say what was wrong. When I told him I had to get back to work he started to tell me that I had a warrant out for my arrest and that cops were gonna pick me up at work. He kept talking about the cops until I hung up on him

Yea I just got a call from these fools who can barely speak any English so umm yea do they even know what the IRS stands for? They can read a script over the phone good for them I don't scare easily they left a voice mail message and now I am gonna post their message everywhere!!! SHAME ON YOU FOOLS!! 647-757-1617...that's how we roll here in AMERICA dudes!!

GUY NAMED HIMSELF AS  ERIC FOSTER as 'Officer'
keep saying return his call back (either me or my 'Attorney')
and he says if he doesn't hear from me the only thing he can do is 'WISHING ME A GOOD LUCK'

I called the number 646-757-1617, it rings couple times and then turns into busy signal

To me its a fake call

I got the very same voice message. Ignoring it!!! Scam!

So how do I or who do I call to turn this number in or is best just to just ignore it?

Is there a better place to report this scam?
I too received a call from this "IRS officer" ( knowing IRS would communicate by mail).

The number should be shut down.

Got this same message from an "Officer" Garred Foster, definitely a scam  646-757-1617!

Got this call too few min ago from Barry Foster saying...I only understand its about.... an account. The rest of the message are the same... to call back either myself or our attorney and then wishes me good luck.

This scenario is alarming to me because I have been getting a similar call from my cell phone but this time the message says for a warrant of arrest. I am glad I found this link knowing it's not only me. Also, I find it very informative and helpful from all this people who shared their experiences and shared some guidelines. I got the exact same message. Same person's name and everything.  Its a fake call.  The IRS also has a message posted on their site as follows :  

IRS Repeats Warning about Phone Scams
IR-2014-81, Aug. 13, 2014 — The IRS and TIGTA continue to hear from taxpayers who have received unsolicited calls from individuals demanding payment while fraudulently claiming to be from the IRS.

received this crazy call today and immediately knew it was a scam.  Thanks for everyone else reporting it here.

I just received a call from 646-757-1617 on my cell phone a few minutes ago. I answered only because it stated as being from New York and I have family with New York phone numbers. Message was about the same as everyone else received  on this site.  It was a very firm male voice, obviously reading from a script, telling me to immediately return his call or have my attorney call, giving a case number and his badge number.  I worried for a moment until logic set in. IRS does not call you, they write to you if they need to get in touch with you.  I will report this call though
