I've received multiple VM's from this number in the past week stating they have received a notification about my tax filings from Headquarters (IRS) and that I have 24 hours to call back, and if I don't I'll be taken into custody by the local cops (not the local authorities, but the more professional scam term of cops) because there are 4 serious allegations against my name at this moment. SCAM! IGNORE IF YOU RECEIVE A SIMILAR CALL!!!

I got the same call today 9/7/16 at 330 pm

I too received a call from this number.  I called backed, let them know I was recording the call, asked them for their 1-800 number and badge number and they hung up on me.  They did identify themselves as the IRS.

Same call from IRS. Sept 21,2016  twice today.

They left a voicemail saying is I didn't call then the local cops would come to take me into custody because I have three serious allegations against my name. they are the IRS I must them now !! I called them back trying to get them to stop calling 3 times a day. the man called me a [***] then hung up. I called them right back I want this insidious calling to stop ! They hung up I called back I received a rial tone none working number . then early this morning they are calling me back again !!!How to stop this craziness ??

Received this call at 7:45 this morning.  Got the identical prerecorded message as the other folks who have commented here.  I'm going to give them a call and blow a horn/whistle.  Repeatedly.

Same messaged received several times this week. Apparently, I have more than 24hrs LOL. SUCH BS!

Same false message as others above. 646-757-1973 scam. How is this legal?

Amazing people still pull these scams

This is a scam call from the IRS. I called them back just to have a little afternoon fun. The guy I talked to said his name was Mark Brown but he had a very heavy Indian accent (from India) which gave me a fun place to start badgering him. He ended up saying that "my mother was a [***]" and hung up on me.

Same thing as above. They continue to change their number and message. I called the IRS directly to alert them of these calls.

To get back, I wrote a program to call them every 5 minutes from an unknown number.

I also received the same number. When I called them the number is disconnected. It appears to be a cell number. I was so upset over the call and called my financial consultants and said IRS does not function in the way this caller is handling issue.  Please be aware. This person had my addresss and full name.  Please report them.
