- Henry| 1 replyIt is a tax scam. They pry on old and young adults to scare them into handing out their information under a "federal complaint and tax fraud". My daughter got a call from them and they hung up. She called them right back and they had to "look her up." On top of that she doesn't even do taxes yet.

- ARAThey guy called as Steve Jones and said he wanted to talk to my 12 years daughter. When asked what is about he was nonresponsive. I believe these are a bunch of criminals using illegal immigrants from southeast Asia to intimidate uneducated people. They usually use MagicJack not a regular line and when you track them they end up in a rather unrecognizable building in run down part of the cities. My friend shut one of them down in CA by reporting their harre4sments to MagicJack.

- MikeCalled for my daughter. Indian accent. Said he was an officer from the IRS. When I grabbed the phone and told him he was not, he started cursing at me and calling me a mother effer and c sucker. I almost fell over I was laughing so hard. To hear what he was calling me in that heavy accent was priceless. I only wish I had it recorded. Mommy...he's being mean to me. What a stooge.

- Linda P| 1 replyReceived a call from 646-808-3071. He called three times and on the third time left a message stating he was with the IRS and he had a "complaint" against me. He had a pretty heavy Indian accent. He said if I didn't call him back he would be forced to let the charges go against me. Then ended the call with "Have a blessed day." BIG SCAM I'm 100% sure!

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. - CWG40 replies to LeighCall blocker might be of some help.
- KI got a call from this number with them saying that they were from IRS and had a "complaint" against me. He had a pretty heavy Indian accent. He said if I didn't call him back he would be forced to let the charges go against me. When I said I didn't feel comfortable he said they were signing a warrant for my address and asked what address I wanted police to come to. They knew my full name and both of my addresses.
- Marija ZivanovicGot a call, supposedly an IRS inspector. I hadn't paid the "federal student tax". Since I haven't received my diploma yet, I thought there actually may have been something that I wasn't aware of and didn't pay. They had me fooled until they asked me to stay on the line while going to a bank to withdraw 900 dollars because they needed cash. An official was gonna come to my home at my convenience with forms and I would pay for vouchers in cash that would absolve me without any record. I started asking more questions, raised my voice a bit, and then they started shouting at me in a heavy accent. I pretended I was losing them and hung up. They called twice more, I didn't pick up, the number was withheld.

- JGot a call from 646-808-3071 today for my daughter. Female (with Indian accent) said her name was Jennifer. When I questioned her, she hung up on me. I called back. Austin (Indian accent) answered. I said I was my daughter and asked to talk to a supervisor. He immediately hung up. I tried to call back and they would not answer. I went to my husband's office and called from there. Shawn Tyler answered "IRS". When confronted about not being legitimate, he became belligerent. I put my husband on the phone who told Shawn Tyler to cease and desist, which enraged S. T. He hung up. So I waited a bit, blocked our phone number and called back. He did not give his name this time but answered "IRS". I had a very amusing conversation where I was called a "[***]", a "b...." a "monkey" and told to eat a double portion of his "s..." I have reported the number to the Inspector General, the police, the IRS and will continue on.

- Julie| 2 repliesThe government should get this guy. He is a crook with a foreign accent not American at all.
He will have to deal with his sins someday scaring people. This is a terrible person posing as a government official. Hope the IRS takes people like this seriously and does something.
The government doesn't seem to help its citizens anymore. Thanks Obama !!- Caller: IRS
- Tamianth replies to JulieYour callers are either in India or Pakistan. We do not have jurisdiction in those country's. The government is well aware of these going on. See my post above for where to report these calls.

These are foreign scammers from India and Pakistan who are out of reach of the long arm of American law. Dealing with criminals who their own government sanctions and protects and who is not friendly to the US requires more than a SWAT team. I'm sure that the government is working behind closed doors.
