Threaten to have police pick me up if I do not call back

Ditto, Mr. Anderson.  This is much like the "Phony IRS" calls, that appear around "Income Tax Calls."  Sad thing is, enough of people fall for this Scam, to make it worthwhile to the sleazy scammers.

I.R.S. scam  I called back and asked when they changed their policy of  sending a letter first. The man said they did. I asked where their office was. Wash. D.C.  I kept asking  questions,told them I was paying  their salaries. Then  they hung up.

I keep getting this call from the IRS saying that I owe a huge amount of money to the government. If I do not call this phone number within 24 hours the "cops" are going to come to my house to arrest me.

Says they IRS, if I don't call with 24 hrs, cops will come and arrest me.  I have it on my answer machine

A male caller ( left no name ) called and left a message on my answering machine plus a phone number of 1-646-809-9682 which is a N.Y.C. metropolitan number. As the toll number of 646 is not toll free, I did not call back to find out what kind of a prank scam call he was up to.

voice mail message. first part cut off. threatening local police to cuff me if I did not call back. 4 serious allegations charged against me. ??  In Vermont.

Same experience (in Vermont). I hung up after a half a sentence from  an urgent authoritative female voice sounding threatening.

The caller's banking on the threats being enough to work in cheating you out of money. Many times the call is for whoever answers or hears the message instead of any particular person. The fact they get a way to threaten you is more important than knowing who you are at first. Nobody ever said scammers are geniuses.

Tax scam called me in Vermont --- Robot Female voice.    snippet of recording.... word for word.  Obviously not written by a native "American" english speaker.  "headquarters?"

"...Notification regarding your tax filings from the headquarters which will get expired in the next 24 working hours and once it get expired after that you will be taken into custody by the local cops as there are four serious allegations pressed on your name at this moment...."

Continuous (multiple times a day) call from this number stating I have issues with the IRS and must respond.  Pretty clearly a scan since they don't use correct English.  (As though English is a 2nd language.)  They even leave voicemails!

I just got a call few minutes ago they told me I have to call back in 24 hours if not they will arrest me, I have called FBI and IRS and they have told me that IRS never calls, they send notifications via email, beware of such calls

On call from this number left message on my machine

Telling me that I will be taken by the local cops for allegations made against me.....total scam

Someone called and left a threatening messages on my phone - we are reporting it and it is a scam.   Report to unwanted calls and to the BBB and to the police

Just got one of these calls. How can you make them stop? They've been calling me for weeks and will just leave a no sound voicemail

How many times will you allow them to call before you obtain a call blocker?  Google (or your favorite search engine) is your friend.

Just got this today. No legitimate agency would say "cops", they'd say "law enforcement officials". Ridiculous.
