4 rings and disconnect .... typical of some live callers that don't want to hit answering machines ... if a person answers quickly then they should be doing nothing and have time for the scam to unfold

They call and it starts with "medical Alert you or a loved one" and I hang up. Can't block these calls from my home or cell because there's a limit to how many calls you can block. What's the use of National Do Not Call List when these companies or individuals ignore the requests to not abide and continue calling under different numbers.

Calls all the time. CID New York NY. Medical bracelet scam. I've asked several times to be removed off their calling list. Does no good they have no respect they just keep calling.

Say's they are offering a medical bracelet. But what they really want is your personal information. Not to use for themselves, But to sell to those that will use your personal info for bad intent. Don't fall for it folks, these people are scammers trying to steal your personal identity.

I have a call blocker on my cell phone and once I checked prior individuals who have received from this number - I blocked it.  I truly love this website.

I agree, Karen!  800Notes is by far the best site for determining what scam these lowlife criminals are perpetrating.  Benn coming here for years now...my go-to-site for spam calls.  I never answer unfamiliar numbers, but if this is the "Medic Alert" lowlifes, then this is the 23rd different number these scumbags have used in an attempt to separate me from my hard earned money for, of course, nothing in exchange.  Losers, all of them!!

Same telemarketers selling a medical alert system for seniors, just a different phone number.   Caller ID showed local but this call is from New York and that is a long ways from being in my local area.

Just let it ring...left no message.  Thanks to this site it's now blocked.

Called my home number at 2:12 today and my phone was turned down. I just saw it and looked it up and saw it was scam callers. So I am adding this note as an FYI.

They called and we don't even pick it up. BUT, here is the kicker. We call it back but we use -- *67 so they don't trace our phone number. It doesn't even ring, it comes up right away "WRONG NUMBER." Total Scam. How can these low-lives get away with this?

This number calls me more often than my friends! How sad.  Again, on 9/20/16 at 11:22 am... 646-854-8214 calls me.  Caller ID says "LOCAL".  My automated voice mail picks up....but the scammers leave no message.  Who is running this gig of theirs? SOME body has to be actually dialing and/or inputting our numbers in their systems.......where's the FCC when you need them?

"SOME body has to be actually dialing and/or inputting our numbers in their systems."  Actually no, they have computer programs that dial thousands of numbers a minute. These are criminals calling you. "where's the FCC when you need them?"  Right where they always were.  The logistics of tracking down a number entails tons of subpoena's and if the caller is offshore it is even worse.  Sorry but crimes are not solved in an hour like on TV.  Tell me, have you done your part by reporting them?

Call Blocker
You need to buy a standalone call blocker, call blocking phone, use your carrier’s call blocker if they offer one, or download a free call blocking app for smart phones.  For conventional cell phones, assign the number a letter like “z” and make no ring.  You may also need to have your carrier increase the ring time to avoid having them leave a message on your voice mail.

Caller ID showed LOCAL. I did not answer phone and they hung up after answering machine picked up.

"LOCAL" called while I was out.  Caller left no message and this certainly is not a local number (unless local means on this planet).

Get a call block app from google play, e.g. Who'sCall.  These apps are able to block a lot more than your typical blocker as some of them, like the one I just named, use an online database to auto block known scammers, meaning that a lot more is blocked than you even realize or choose to block yourself.  Granted, I'm not thoroughly happy with Who'sCall as it seems to have some problem with identifying numbers that have called and I need to add the number manually rather than from my call list, but it does it's job of stopping calls very well.

Looks like they put this number on the back burner for a few months, but it's BAAACK, so beware. Love this site!!!
