I took off work for a day and a half, and came back to a message on my supervisor's phone from a guy stating that he was Officer Stanley Lewis. He told me that there were charges against me involving my social security number. I have half a mind to call and set them straight first thing this morning! Oh, thick middle Eastern accent with a call back number of 646-863-8625. Oh hell no!

I imagine the real FTC would love to hear how these rats have so clumsily posed as them and the FCC, according to earlier comments.

Officer Johnny stated that he was a Police Officer and that he was sending out a police officer to come and get me because i had a loan with his company. I never received a loan from these people dont know where there from at all

This Federal Crime of Investigation Dept." is contacting me at work, and I asked them to please remove my name from their calling list.  It was in reference to a cash advance, so they say, that I took out, but I have also made contact with said company directly!  They are refusing to remove my work number from their list.  They also refuse to give me the name of their employer.

This # was included in an email that was written in very poor English, which basically states the same thing that the callers were saying. The email was FTC.gov.us@gmail.com....nice! The writer claims he's a lawyer whose help I will need...SCAMERS!

I haven't gotten a call from this number because the phone number they have for me is an old one.  However, I received an e-mail from a person that provided this number as his contact number.  His name is Sean Hudson from a law firm Holland and Hart, stating that I have a federal FRAUD case against me for a payday loan for American Cash Advance.  I don't use payday loans!  Never have.  The concern I have is that in the e-mail he stated ALL of my personal information.  Right address, right SSN, right e-mail address (obviously since he sent me the e-mail as well).  He even referenced a case number.  I had this happen 2 years ago but from different phone number stating the same thing.  Never received any warrants, legal documents, etc.  It has me very concerned and not sure how to deal with this.

I got the same email, I knew it was Spam but opened out of curiosity. I was shocked to see my social!! That's the only part of this email that has me worried. YIKES! Would love to know what to do. Might consider signing up for LifeLock.

i got an email from a sean hudson claiming he works the federal trade commission and claims that i took out checks from america advance never heard of them. the scary part they have an old address and phone number but they have my social security number i don't like that. they claim it's a federal fraud case against me. i never receive a letter or no documentation just a email in the spam mail. what should i do with a situation like this should i report it to the federal trade commision.

Yes, please do report it to the FTC and you can forward the email to the FBI at their Internet Crime Complaint Center - www.ic3.gov.  Do NOT respond to this email - this is sent by scammers.  Since they have your SSN, it would probably be wise for you to look into getting identity theft protection.

Received an email from these clowns stating that my ssn has been blocked due toman unpaid payday loan and they left this callback number. No other info was provided. Contacted the FTC and my attorney.Someone needs to track these clowns down!

I am really very sorry to say you that you are going to be legally prosecuted in the Court House within couple of days. Your SSN is put on hold by US Government, so before something goes wrong I thought that I shall call you and notify you about this matter. But as I was not able to reach you I am sending you a final notification Email. So please take a piece of paper and write down your case file LMD77361 and second thing since it's a legal matter you will be needed my help, so please write down my callback number is 646 863 8625 Ext 6643 For the records you.

After doing my own investigation I found this company to be a fraud scam company that sends out letters like this one to many customers who take out cash advance loans over the internet.  Be aware of this type of scam from this company.

Note that this fake attorney has the writing skills of a child.  This is a very old,  pathetic scam as you pointed out.
