got a call as well - no message left - nothing...

Callback gets "You have reached the NYU student phonathon."  It goes on to ask you to answer a few questions so they can call you back.

Missed the call couple times and called back with nobody answering.

Yeah, it's NYU. The alleged "phonathon" has been going on since last year on my phone. I've received no less than 14 calls from this number since February of this year. They started calling me from this number last year. In total, I've received 19 calls from several different phone numbers since April of last year. They don't give up. I've blocked all the numbers they've used to date, but I can see the call come up on my phone's call record. Just block any call from NYU or this could drive you crazy. Can't believe a legitimate organization is behaving like a scammer. Maybe they are scammers. If it's legit, then it might be fun to contact the media and out them as scum. I'm going to look into it. I've received more calls from them over the longest period of time than any other scammer.

I've been getting calls from these people using this number and several others 2 or 3 times a month since last year. I've blocked them all. I went online to check this out, and it appears to be a legitimate call center that is trying to extract money from people to support New York University. Sleazy. There's group pictures of the center's staff wearing big smiles and discussions about what a great job it is. Do they know they're a nuisance?  They must. I went to NYU's website, and I found no area to file a complaint. Wouldn't make any difference anyway, I'm sure.

This number has called 4-5 times most days since last winter. They start before 9 AM & stop at 9 PM, weekends included. I wonder if the NY State Attorney's Office could help. Perhaps there's a spammer just using the school's name, and it's not the school after all?
