When I check my voicemail on Virgin Mobile Canada, it always shows an outgoing call to 1-647-383-2333. I don't know what an incoming call from this same number would mean, though.

I just activated a new phone and it show that same call 5 times outgoing on my Virgin Mobile phone     1(647) 383-2333 did you find out who or why it happen. I haven't even made one call from my phone yet.

My daughter uses the phone at school (for texting to us) and she had 3 calls in the space of 5 minutes...all from this number. The calls went directly to Voicemail (which we don't have set up). We checked the phone last night, and discovered 3 OUTGOING calls to this number (at the same times as the "incoming" calls)

The result is my daughter has no time on her phone now. What a rip off!!

It is a setting on the smart / cell phone set up by Virgin mobile. If you check under the phones "Call forwarding" it is the number used for.., Forward when busy / unanswered / unreachable. When you first set-up with Virgin mobile, it automatically calls into these 3-features to confirm a number is available/set. Call Virgin if you decide to input a different number and ask for OK, to change.

I've just recieve a call from this number. I've had my virgin moblie for about 2 years now so it should have anything to do with new phones. the call went straight to my voicemail.

Is this just happen to Virgin phones? I never had this problem with other service provider but keeps getting voice-mails from this number with my new Virgin phone.

This used to concern my wife and I also when I purchased our new Smart Phones.  If your phone indicates a voice mail, you will dial 611 to hear the message.  That number is recorded as an outgoing call to 647-383-2333.  

When we suspected the association, I got my wife to call me on my cell and leave a voice mail message and noted the time.  I then called her and did the same.  Both our phones recorded the access to our voice mail as an outgoing call to that number.....mystery solved!

See our reply to "Agnes" below.  The number is the access to Virgin's voice mail.  Also, no matter how many times you access your voice mail, the time is not deducted from your monthly total or against the time purchased if you have a prepaid account.

647-383-2333 is the Virgin Voicemail number which is dialed when you check your voicemail. It costs the same as any other outgoing called.

I've had several calls from 647-383-233, but they don't show up on incoming calls, missed calls, or messages, doesn't show who the call is from,  and it always says URGENT.

I have a new Virgin mobile phone.  So far I've just ignored the messages.

It's a nuisance.

I don't know WHY I am being asked to call this phone number for a Voicemail on my Virgin Mobile phone. Is Virgin Mobile aware of this scum? They should do something about it quickly!

It is your Virgin Mobile voicemail caller id but it can also be a debt collector who can easily find out who your mobile provider is and change their caller id to make it look like (in this case) Virgin Mobile.

I can confirm that Accounts Recovery Corporation does use this technique. Pretty clever but I don't think it is legal.

Get an android phone, the android operating system allows you to block unlimited individual numbers.

When they call just hang up and then follow these steps http://android-tips.com/blacklist-or-block-a-phone-number/ and the call will just go to your voicemail every time the call from the blocked number comes in.

It will not effect your voicemail in anyway by blocking 647-383-2333
