- F Cosman| 6 repliesMy home phone number has been listed on the Canadian "DO NOT CALL LIST" since 2012. However I repeatedly get calls form the same call centre regarding "my credit card interest rate".
The recorded message that plays says to Press "1" to speak to a personal representative, or Press "2" to have the calls discontinued.
PRESSING "2" DOES NOT WORK !!! THE RESPONSE TO THAT IS "THIS IS NOT A VALID RESPONSE" !!! YOU CANNOT GET RID OF THEM !!!
PRESSING "1" IS NO BETTER !!! SOME YOUNG MAN WITH AN ACCENT PROMPTLY HUNG UP ON ME WHEN I TOLD HIM I WOULD LIKE THE CALLS TO MY PHONE NO TO CEASE !!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! PLEASE DO SOMETHING !!!- Caller: NO NAME GIVEN. CAN'T IDENTIFY
- Call type: Telemarketer
- newgirlI have call blocking through my landline server, so I've blocked them. Hopefully it will work.
- SamGot a call from this number a few minutes ago. No message left.
- MidtownAm in Toronto and got a robocall from this number at 8:45 p.m. No msg. left and it disconnected after 3 rings - so knew it was a robocall. Now using yet another spoofed/faked number - this time a local Toronto area code. No info on call display. From reading the previous posts apparently the credit card scam folks are using yet another number.
- Caller: SCAM
- up northGot this call just now. No message left on answering machine.
- Doreen replies to F Cosman| 1 replyI experienced the same, the #2 to discontinue calls does not work. When a guy with an accent answered, I asked him to take me off the list and he told me to [***] Off and hung up. This is really disgusting!!!!
- GTA'nJust got a call from them too, no VM. Can't call it back either, busy signal
- BC GirlGot a call from this # a few minutes ago. No response. Dial tone after a few seconds. I am also on the Do Not Call list - so much for that!
- JeffThe number manage by CALL-NET COMMUNICATIONS which bought out by ROGERS COMMUNICATIONS in Toronto, ontario in 2005. So, what I am going to do is contact Rogers and file a complaint. Let them know one of their customer misused their service. If this continue then they will be sue.

- Brenda| 1 replyJust recd a call from this number. We are also on do not call list. Just used call block on my phone. My phone is now loaded with blocked numbers that should not even be calling!! Wish there was something that could be done to these bogus companies that don't even have the stones to display their company names....
- Caller: no name appears
- EricAnother call from this number - this time on our land line. Our cell was so deluged with this number calling (more than 35 in an hour), we had to shut our cell off and clear call log daily. Had we answered, our month's contract minutes would have been used in the first two days on this one alone! We finally eliminated the calls to our cell by having our provider change our cell #. I recognized this land line call by the number so let it go to our Voice Mail, but robo-call quit before our greeting message was over. Canada's DNCL does nothing for us!
- Caller: reduce credit card interest
- Call type: Telemarketer
- kreed replies to F Cosman| 1 replyIf you want the calls to cease from this organisation . Here is what you do ... This is easier done with just a stand alone answering machine however it can be done with voice message phone (its just a matter of timing the recording).
Find a phone number that does exist and dial it . You will get a message saying "this number is not in service please check the number" or something to that effect. When the message ends the phone will click a few times or beep and the line will go dead. Record this entire message onto your voice message including upto and past the beeps or clicks. The next time your phone rings with the number for any telemarket caller let the message trigger and play out.
(you can record the message by putting the phone ear piece close to the mic of the answering machine.)
By doing this, it will do an auto cancel the number on their end. Crossing your number off their list. From what I understand any auto dialer system has some sort of tracking ability. So when dead numbers come up they strike them off the list. Often these auto dialers will do a number generation and go through all sorts of numbers looking for ones that maybe legit . These end up making a list that is passed around to others in the business. Dead numbers dont make the list. Eventually as they call you and you do what I have laid out your number will get struck off all their list.
This is what I have done with mine and now I do not have any such calls. I havent calls like these for years now.Ahh the silence is so peacefull. When the phone rings I dont even have to look at the number I already know who it maybe just from the time of day it rings. - RosieI have suddenly been receiving collections calls on a couple of bills that were included in my 2009 bankruptcy. They started sometime around mid 2013 and as I recognize the numbers and don't answer them they just use different numbers. They don't leave a message, so I can't be sure but I figure debt collectors are using this number
- Caller: no message ever left
- Darnis OdileJe ne veut plus d'appel
Do you understand !
I dont want any more call !! - Kreed replies to kreedSorry typo " Does not exist" is what I ment to say
- Don't Scam MeWas just called by this number.
Another SCAM! - JPLauringot robo call about credit card rate verification and I pressed 1 for an agent. When I asked the agent to spell out their company name, he just cut off the line immediately.
- Caller: credit card rate verification

- Primate replies to F Cosman| 1 replySame thing as F Cosman. I am shaking I am so angry. Pressing 2 tells you it is an invalid reponse. (This number is calling my private business office, which has been on the NDNC list since its inception.)
So, I pressed one. I told the thing that answered (certainly not a man) to remove my number. He told me no and that I cannot ask that! I said I sure can since I'm registered on the NDNC and he's breaking the law by calling me. He kept talking over me, getting louder, until I finally said "Would you shut up?" He did stop then for one moment and I blurted that we will press charges against his company if he does not remove our number.
This thing was a piece of work - he laughed at me! So I laughed back, super fake and high-pitched and said "Oooooh you are so funny!!!" Then I said "Supervisor! Now" and I repeated that over about 6 times until he hung up on me.
The next time this number calls, I am going to press one again, tell whatever thing that answers that I am interested in their services, and ask their company name. I am so disgusted I can barely breathe. Yep, he got my goat. - Primate replies to PrimateJust called back again, 5 minutes after the first call. I played all nice, and said I want to use your services but I can't talk right now as I am at work. Can I call back after I leave? He said he will call me back. I said that will not be possible since I will be going home and my office phone will be turned off. He said he will call me at home as he has all my information! WHAT? I tried not to laugh and I told him that he does not have my information, as he has called my work office and there are 12 people here who all have different personal information. He assured me he has my info and hung up! LOL!
Way to go buddy. What if I really did want to use their services? Idiots. - cbengeMy home phone number has been listed on the Canadian "DO NOT CALL LIST" since it was created. However I repeatedly get calls form the same call centre regarding "my credit card interest rate".
The recorded message that plays says to Press "1" to speak to a personal representative, or Press "2" to have the calls discontinued.
PRESSING "2" gives a "THIS IS NOT A VALID RESPONSE" !
Next time I pressed 1 and asked to be removed from their call list, and was disconnected. THE NEXT CALL WAS THE SAME, EXCEPT THE CALL CENTER WORKER TOLD ME TO "[***] OFF" BEFORE HE HUNG UP.
I understand that Rogers Communications owns CALL-NET COMMUNICATIONS who manage the call center. I now plan to contact Rogers directly and then via my attorney.- Caller: Call-net communications / Rogers communications
