thx - Scottie replies to Guido SinghI think these guys use automated "wardialing" for their fax to seek out numbers, and very likely use an internet based fax system. This means they can change their fax number at will, making them hard to stop. They sent a fax to my internet based fax within five days of me opening an account, so they probably have many of those numbers bracketed into their system. How they actually hope to make money is beyond me.

- sick-of-junk-faxes replies to Guido SinghYes - this is the number for "Global Training Services" and a bunch of other scam junk faxes that come through. 905-859-7652 is the correct number to call. Call and mention you have reported them to the CRTC - if enough people do, they might stop!

- I HATE junk faxes replies to Guido SinghYou can also call 416-410-1121 (Scallywags Dog Care) and harass them that way. Kim Antonic runs that business and does not like hearing from people at this number unless you are calling for dogcare questions. It's funny...she can send junk faxes and run a company called FlashFax Communications, but doesn't like to be bothered herself for no reason. Hmmmmm - weird eh?
- FaxamillionI called 905.859.7652 and she (Beth) told me that she doesn't own the business but she will pass my fax number onto the person that does to have it removed. She doesn't know how long it will take, so I will call her daily to find out or until the faxes stop.

I am in Vancouver. I think we should all call and sign up for the course to see where and who is giving the training courses and confront them. Similar to what the group of people did with the fake security scam where the guy charged $40 for a background check claiming it was neccessary for people to quality for a job. We need to band together and confront this guy. Anyone else in Vancouver in on this ? If yes, lets organize a MSN or some communication channel to get started.- Caller: www.globaltrainingservices.ca

- NozzlemanFollow-up message for handling those unwanted "broadcast" faxes. Hope this helps!
This is a well co-ordinated fax spamming operation, run by a former East Bloc spammer presently located north of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His name is Alexi Antonic, and his legitimate address and phone number appear in a message above. He has been contracted by certain companies to advertise their services via "broadcast" faxes, for which he receives a fee. The actual dialing is done by a computer controlled fax dialing program, and they harvest phone numbers from other databases, or at random. It's not hard to do: any pimply-faced nerd in grade 10 can learn to do it, and the software is available over the internet FOR FREE! If you've EVER sent a fax ANYWHERE, it's very likely that your phone number is on one of these databases. WARNING: Calling him may only get you more problems with the unwanted faxes-- he now has another proven active phone number to add to the database!!
SUGGESTED STEPS TO FOLLOW:
1) Get the local number of the fax line sending you the fax; in the Ottawa area, EPIX is the name that comes up on the call display, and the number is: 613-693-3023.
2) Call Bell Canada, (310-BELL) and ask to speak with a residential line customer service supervisor; even if you are not a Bell customer, they now have the technology to stop this practice, and must act on your complaint. A first-line customer service representative is not authorized to block calls from any number; they are only the salespeople, which is why you have to speak with a supervisor.
3) Describe to the supervisor the problem you are having with the nuisance faxes; it helps to have some dates and times to provide to the Bell Canada representative, as well as the local fax line number from which you have received the broadcast faxes. Make sure to tell them that the opt-out number doesn't work, and the address of the company offices are fraudulent.
4) Request that all calls from that local fax line number be blocked. Remember: only a Bell residential line supervisor has the authority to do this! All other normal faxes (i.e. from your lawyer, accountant, caterer, etc.) will still get through. Get the incident number, as well as the supervisor's name from Bell, for future reference; insist on a name and contact information in case you have to call again-- this way you won't have to explain the problem all over again. The blocking process takes about 72 hours to become active.
5) If you haven't already done so, submit a complaint to the CRTC, to their "Do Not Call" website. This step is very important, as the CRTC does keep track of the complaints. You may or may not get a follow-up call about your complaint, but the complaint is registered, and given a number. Keep the complaint number for future reference.
There are many out-of-work computer techies out there with the time and expertise to be able to defeat just about all the caller ID, call display, call trace and call block programs out there. We just have to be smarter! Bell had a hand in creating (and licensing!) the technology, so they bear a good deal of the responsibility to rectify the problem. Good luck!- Caller: Global Training Services
