Finally, someone who knows what to do about this. Thanks for your post zzyguy!  My husband got the same letter and a check #209971 for $3980 drawn on "Citizen Bank" from "MAGNA COSMA INTERNATIONAL".  I'll be following your advice and contacting the Wisconsin Attorney General.  I also looked up the routing number on my check and, although "Citizen Bank" is printed on the check, the routing number is assigned to a Bank of America bank in Richmond VA.  I called the toll free number listed for BOA and tried to report this to their fraud department; only to be told they only deal with law enforcement agencies.  I'd already phoned my local police department but was told that they "don't have the manpower to devote to this type of investigation".  There really needs to be a way to catch and punish the jerks that try to pull this sort of thing on unsuspecting citizens...especially in our current economic disaster!  I'd be interested to know if you've had any responses to your letters.

hehe... they were playing games with me .. now i gave them a slap on their face ...as i said i deposit the money in my bank, and my bank told me that the check is fake, it has been copied ... bank will hold the check , and i took all the money from my bank, and left  the zero balance ... and closed my account ... i know the check was fake .. but i took it to the bank.. bank has proof that its a fake check..
scam people.... good for nothing ...

I JUST GOT MY CHECK FOR $3,980 (B OF A) Giumarra Wow!  all i have to do is call some guy and pay some taxes.  and then after doing that they will send me some big money..ok!  the letter is by xpress-chas consultants 860 wilson ave, london, ont...nothing is right on this crap!  nice try but don't fall for it either..times are tough and everyone wants to be win a million!  call Opra or someone but don't do this one.

I got the same check today for $3,980.00, Guimarra, Los Angeles, Bank of America in Northbook, IL (isn't it supposed to be NorthbRook?) Ha!

I'm scratching my head wondering how, if there's a number that someone ACTUALLY ANSWERS, wouldn't there be an address attached to that # where the phone company sends the bill?  
And how come the cops couldn't just go catch up to them at that address??

Ultimately, you are responsible for the checks we deposit and the bank will want its money back if the check is bad.  You could possibly ruin your credit with what you've done.  It's not like the bank doesn't know who you are...

ya, bank already  know it is a fraud check.. i told them that i know this check is not real, atleast bank knows..

We didn't get a phone call but a letter and a real looking check cut from Fifth Third Bank in Ohio. Yeah, I checked out the bank, it's there, and so is the company on the check but so are all of you tell me it's a scam. I wish they get there's in the end.

Scam is still going on.  Received my letter today.

I just got the same exact check today in the mail. I was google'ing the company and check to see if it was a scam and I ran into your comment here. Thanks for answering my question. I won't waste my time.

I just received the same amount of money, it looked very fishy for me.I Google it and I saw that was a Scam. It is unforgivable, It all the same story. I hope no one fall for it. I wish the authority can catch those scammed.

Got a check for 3985.50.  Was so excited because we've been on hard times for a few years now.  Thought finally, we could get ahead and put some away for our kids for college, get a car that's less than 10 years old, pay off the big doctor bills...  Now I'm just really sad.  Hope the jerks are happy that they've hurt someone else (again).  At least I diden't tell the kids so they won't be disappointed...

(sure jip? scam junk? swine jerks?)  Account # is  9600084278; 0004977 check number; bank #041203824.  The street address is 5675 Ralston St., Stockton CA 95202  Who ever you are, S.J., you will be judged in the end and pay a huge penalty for your greed and coniving.  May the Lord prepare a putrid corner in Hell for you and your ilk.

I want to report 647-836-4806.....and I also got a letter in the mail from them....can I report this to the IRS and will it do any good....How about Bank of America....?  Wonder if they know about it?
