- Big Al| 1 replyCalled twice today. Did not answer as I don't get calls from Ontario. Any idea?
- Ashley replies to Big AlI've looked online and seems to be Sun Life Financial...
- Chrisgot a call from this number, but no sound at all after pick-up (no voice or even breathing). Caller hung up after 1 second of silence. April 9 @ 10:55 am
- Briancall is from SQM Group They are a survey company calling on behalf of large telemarking houses. They claim NOT to be telemarking.
I listened to the prerecorded fecal rhetoric, when I called back and got a prompt to be removed from their list. Time will tell how credible they are as I had 3 calls in 2 days from them.- Caller: SQM Group
- Call type: Survey
- AmberI had a missed call from this number and when I called back an automated message said that they conduct customer surveys on behalf of Company Call Centers. I had called the Sunlife Financial 1-800 number earlier today for help with my health claims, and then I received a call from this SQM Group, so (from reading the info above),I assume they were inquiring on the service I received from the Sunlife call center that I dealt with (I didn't answer the number though, so I cant' say for sure).

- J from CalgaryCalled three times today, but I will not answer unless there is a clear Caller ID Name rather than simply a phone number on the display.
If this is a survey company working for someone else, or a consumer research company doing surveys, they need to use true Caller ID or i will NOT answer. I am happy to respond to true research, but unless there is clear identification of the caller, I do not consider them professional enough to earn my response. - S from Ontario| 1 replyThey called my cell phone twice today. Nothing but silence and then it hangs up. I called back and got the pre-recorded message that it is SQM Group and that they do surveys. It says that either I gave them my number (I did not) or someone did on my behalf. I requested to be put on the do not call list, so hopefully that's legit.
Interesting that two people mentioned Sun Life Financial, as I called them the other day to make an address change. Looks like they are the ones who sold my phone number. :/- Caller: SQM Group

- JuliaThis number has called me 6 times; twice this afternoon. When I have picked up, there is a moment or two of silence, then the call disconnects. Very annoying!!
- VéroniqueJ'ai aussi reçu un appel de cette compagnie. Je n'ai pas répondu... Par contre j'ai moi aussi appelé Sun Life hier pour des questions relatives à mon assurance avec eux !
- CarrieCalled me today left no msg. I spoke with Sunlife Financial yesterday... Coincidence? Or conspiracy?
- Caller: Sunlife?
- GordI called Sunlife this morning, and have received two calls from this number this afternoon
- LaylaIts sunlife financial customer survey
- Caller: sunlife financial

- James| 1 replyYes, I just called Sunlife yesterday, and suddenly today I've already received 4 calls from this number.
I blocked my caller ID and called them back, and it's a recorded message from the "SQM Group", that does some kind of annoying follow up survey after you call Sunlife. There is an opt-out option when you call the number back.
But what I find EXTREMELY infuriating about all this is 3 things:
------------------------
1) I TRUSTED the Sunlife insurance company with my private data.
My phone number is something very important/private to me. I don't go around giving it out to just anybody. Sunlife has betrayed my trust, and I am now concerned what other private information about me, that Sunlife is giving away to other parties?
2) I perceive this strategy-tactic being used by SQM, at the request of Sunlife, of calling me 4 times throughout the day, all day long (even interrupting me when I was at a meeting with my boss earlier) as HIGHLY HARASSING, sleazy, and telemarketing-like in nature.
Has Sunlife sunk so low, that they now turn loose harassing companies like SQM onto their own clients?
3) FINALLY... the recorded message by SQM proclaims that "we are not a telemarketing company". This is the most infuriating thing of all: YES YOU ARE A TELEMARKETING COMPANY! You make your living gaining money by calling my phone in a harassing fashion 4 times per day, to try to gain marketing information! That is the core-epitome of sleazy style telemarketing.
------------------------
Let me just repeat that in case anyone at Sunlife or SQM is reading this: SQM IS A TELEMARKETING COMPANY that uses EXTREMELY annoying and harassing tactics.
I would recommend everyone try and AVOID ever calling the Sunlife call-center, otherwise Sunlife will turn SQM loose onto you, and sick them onto you like a mad-rabid-marketing-dog!
(Maybe you can put that into your marketing notes, Sunlife.)- Caller: Sunlife & SQM

- Rey replies to JamesI also talked to Sunlife a couple of days ago and suddenly I am getting these calls. I did call back once and got dead air and than a disconnect. Not Impressed. Sunlife needs to check their so called marketing tactics.
- PamI called SunLife Financial yesterday and today got a call from this number. No one spoke, just a moment of silence then a hang up. I wouldn't say that SunLife has "sold" this information to a telemarketing company. If, in fact, they are doing customer satisfaction surveys, then the information has not been sold - they have hired a consulting company. Although - I'm not sure that's what's happening here.
- ProwlerTwo phone calls today. No message. Just a pain, especially when running upstairs from the basement. No message is left.
- TurronnoI did the same as all of you. I called SLF yesterday and have recoeved these 5 calls since!! I had a friend who I didn't want to talk to call and then right after that 647 number. Assumed it was the friend just using someone else's phone. Disappointed in Sun Life
- elie from quebec replies to S from OntarioThis is a SunLife [***] for sure : I gave them my cell phone number to reach me to get info on my health claim last week and now this... I say we should complain to SunLife!
- elie from QuebecThis is a SunLife [***] for sure : I gave them my cell phone number to reach me to get info on my health claim last week and now this... I say we should complain to SunLife! I never give my cell phone number to avoid this kind of unsollicitated calls, but this time it was important to me that SunLife could reach me. Lesson learned!
