No mention that he was calling from Dept. of Education, etc. Said my paperwork had come across his desk and I was to get back to him right away so that his team could start working on the paperwork for my student loan forgiveness. - Sgt Joe FridayHello. I received a call today 2 8 17 at about 4 pm PST. I do have a small student loan. The voice message was the same as above. I decided to call using a phone number that you can not call back on. Outgoing only via gmail. When the person answered, it was a female and at first I could not understand her English. I had to ask again what she had said. So she explained that they are a company that supposedly helps you go through the process of loan forgiveness. However I would imagine they would ask you for all sorts of info that could be used to scam you. If you want to see if you qualify for loan forgiveness, (some special ed teachers have had this I believe), just go to the Department of Ed at this link and get the facts for yourself. If you are smart enough to have graduated from college, you should be able to do this yourself. Here is the link to Forgiveness at Dept of Ed

- Lisa| 2 repliesI feel sick, I am in the process of trying to get a school loan taken care of and I got got a call from this number coincidentally. Same guy, Stephen, same line, everything. I called him back and they said he had left for the day. I got an Hispanic women that they could help me with loan forgiveness if I qualify, yadayada.. she ask for my fafsa # and ofcourse I didnt have it with me after 10 yrs, so she said she could look it up with my soc #. She sounded legit, and dumb me gave it to her. She actually looked up my information and could see my loan and amount. She said it would be a fee of $599. I immediately became skeptical and Googled her number while talking to her, it came up multiple times in complaints! I'm worried about my social being out there now😣

- Kara LukeMy student loans are pending forgiveness through the Nelnet disability forgiveness program, so I don't know why I'd get a call this Steven from the "student loan forgiveness dept". This doesn't seem official. Seems like a scam because there is no entity that I know of that goes by that name that's official.
