Received a call from this number.  Did not answer.  No message left on answering machine.  We are on the do not call registry.  I'm reporting this to the feds.

Received call on Caller ID stating it was from MPI. They did not leave any message. I am registered on the Do Not Call list so I filed a complaint at www.donotcall.gov.

you are full of it my brother got put on the do not call list through the goverment and gets more calls then ever now someone is saleing the list to these people

Did not answer, just seen the MPI and number show up. Scam no doubt. Don't they know what "caller ID" is all about? LOL

first of all - i don't understand why people feel the need to be so disrespectful with their email responses.  calling someone a moron or giving condescending advice is not helpful - and it makes you look and sound ignorant and small.  i am on the Do Not Call Registry and have filed complaints every time these people have called.  And whether I choose to pick up my phone or not - I do not want them calling at all hours of the day or night.  If you don't like reading people's posts, then you shouldn't participate in the thread.

Received a call at 6:34 p.m. Asked for my wife. Said she was calling from breast cancer. I asked her to put me on their do-not-call list (as is noted, if they're working for a "charity", they're exempt from the federal and state do-not-call lists, but they still have to maintain their own). She said "no way, dumb-dumb" and hung up on me.

Clearly not a legitimate charity. Breast cancer, unfortunately, claimed the life of a close family member. There are a number of legit breast cancer charities around that sponsor research, help for families and counseling. Look for those and stop responding to these scam artists on the phone.

And, obviously, I should have said, "Said she was calling from a breast cancer charity." Guess I should have made one more pass proofreading...

We are on the do not call list and have been.   These people are bottom feeders and prey on anyone who will pick up the phone.

Machine picked it up... caller called my first name, waited then hung up. I am in southeast Michigan. I *69'ed the call and got this number from my phone after the call... 651-917-2179

They are out of Minn. they are a call center who call for charities and take a cut of the donations.

I'm unemployed.  I know that there is a difference between malice and stupidity- that these callers are not calling people with malicious intent, and I also know when someone is throwing a hissy-fit like the woman I responded to.

The internet is a huge place, so I'm sure you can find some other place to menstruate, right?

No one mentioned the Federal DNC list, so why are you bringing it up?  Besides that, anyone with half a brain knows the DNC is only applicable for sales and services.  You perpetuate this point.

That's because you're on the Federal DNC.  It's only applicable for sales and services.  For-profits contracted by non profits slip through the cracks.  That being the case, for profits that do this kind of thing have their own do not call file.  Request to be placed on it.  Easy, problem solved.

The federal DNC registry only protects you from sales and services.  You need to request to be put on the Do not call file of the company that's calling you.  It's not complicated.

I'm sure you're on the federal DNC and you're pissed just like everybody else is that they still get calls.  But like it or not, charities are exempt from it, as are non-profits.  

I don't want them calling me at all hours of the day either- whether I answer or not.  Complaints don't do anything, and you know that.  There's really a quite simple solution to all of this.  When a charity calls, pick up the phone, as for a supervisor immediately and request to be put on the company's do not call list.

My loose bottom is bleeding profusely and is the cause for my irratibility! Grrr!

there's no excuse, once you've told them not to call and to remove you off the call list they are not suppose to call you again. after that, it's a crime.
