I believe it is legitimate. For some reason, they called me on my cell phone and I answered. I didn't go to school there, but my husband did. I gave them our home phone number because he wasn't there when they called. I didn't answer it when they called on the house phone because it said something that made it look like it was from the State of Missouri. It would be helpful if it were identified as Truman State.

Hello,

I have been receiving phone calls from the number listed above for probably the past year or so. It's usually around 6 in the evening. But, I just received a call at 2:15 p.m., it is getting to be rather annoying.

This number is one of the standard generic ones you get on you id if it is from the "state of Missouri" If you call it back, you will likely just get dead air or no answer.  Sometimes scammers will use it in a spoof.

Once a year or so students man a bank of phones for donations from alumni for various scholarships

I am a current student at Truman and I've been getting calls from this number every night but two for 11 days straight. I never answer unknown numbers even when they claim they're from Kirksville. If it's important they'll leave a message. But I'm getting sick of it. I hope they don't expect a donation because I'm already paying them a x-ton. So.

That's weird because Truman isn't even on Washington St...

Ok, I have been reading through here and I got 2 calls, no message. Called back, no answer. Got another call ten minutes later and answered. It was the Missouri Career Center in Kirksville at the MACC building.

I am evidence that this isn't specifically Truman related. I didn't even go to school there, never applied for school there, and don't even know anyone who went there. I did graduate from from a public Missouri university one year ago though so it's probably a Missouri thing more than a Truman thing. Didn't answer, no message.
