- REALLY PeevedA woman from this number called my cell phone and left a nearly unintelligible message in which she shrieked something about "swine flu". Within minutes, I had another call on my home phone from the same number, but the caller said nothing that time. The same day, someone from the same number called one of my neighbors and asked her to leave a note requesting that I return the call on my front door. I'm outraged at this behavior. Isn't contacting one's neighbors illegal?
- adanI just got a phone call from this number and the lady was asking to many questions and then we hang up then my phone rang again and it was the same number that i had just got and said nothing and hung up.
- Caller: dont know.
- tiny tthis peron calls my cell phone almost every day i just let it ring and let the machine get it.It's probably just someone trying to run a scam.
- CJust got a call from this number and I haven't a clue why. "Maria" wouldn't say why she was calling for someone I'm not associated with.
I learned thru this reverse call site that this was Account Control Technology, a collection agency from Bakersfield. I have no idea how they got my number for anything as it is a blocked number.- Caller: Account Control Technology, Inc.
- ljoyatesI recently moved to another state and somehow these sneaky [***] found out my new neighbors, who I barely know, phone number and asked them to put a note on my door. They did, thus confirming that I indeed live where their investigations have led them. I have a student loan out but I am still in school. Jumping the gun a bit their fellas? How am I supposed to finish school or even live if I have to worry about this and further if they make it hard for me to get any kind of money for school as I am paying for it all on my own with 2 jobs and loans... jeez
- nikkii answered phone caller said "this is gonna sound strange but do you still live over there at _________?" i said no even though it was the right address. caller hung up. from reading the other post why would any1 put a note on someone else's door!!! come on people its to many scams going on stop giving up so much info!!!

I'm currently satisfying outstanding loans...but the calls keep coming. It's part of my irresponsibility.....so I've had to come to terms. While getting my butt in gear....i've come to the ultimate solution. There is one big catch. You must have the iphone...and have it jailbroken. Once jailbroken, download the iBlacklist app. It's God sent. I and I alone control my incoming calls. It costs a nominal fee...but it's WORTH IT. As stated before....these actions are the result of my poor actions in the past. Pay your bills.....on time.....and this will never be an issue. It sucks to learn the hard way. - Computer_Mom| 2 repliesThis company is a collection agency for student loans.

- baffledI got a call from them just now. I didn't answer. I don't pick up blocked numbers or numbers I don't know. I have a student loan but I'm paying on it.
- AceI have been recieving phone calls from this company for 6 to 8 months now. They always ask for Heather.I politely tell them that there is not a Heather at this number and that I don't even know a Heather. They sometimes apologize and sometimes they just hang-up on me.The most recent call from them was last week and the [***] that called me was so rude that she hung-up on me in mid conversation.I told her again that there is not a Heather at this number and please quit calling me.I was trying to explain that this has been going on for months, when I realized I was talking to myself. She had hung -up on me.In the past I was told that my number would be taken out of their system, however I still continue to recieve calls from them for Heather. My next recourse for them is from my attorney, which is not a fly by night attorney by the way.....

- Collection Advice replies to CC| 6 repliesDON'T BE FOOLED. If you have a debt that is over 4 years old (this applies to any contracts--less time for other types of accounts) IT IS OUT OF STATUTE AND YOU CANNOT BE SUED. DO NOT PAY ONE DIME, OR YOU WILL START THE 4-YEAR STATUTORY PERIOD RUNNING AGAIN. They can call you forever, but not more than once per day, and only between certain hours. You can request that they not call you at home or work. They can only send you a written communication once every 10 days. If they break these rules (as most of them do in these difficult economic times) they can be turned in for disciplinary action. All debt collectors are subject to the Fair Debt Collection Act, which is Federal. The account will drop off your credit file after 7 years. Pull your credit file at least once per year, (go to ANNUALCREDITREPORT.COM to do this for free--some states allow you to do this more than once per year) and dispute anything that is fraudulent or out of statute to get it off your file. Good credit is very important if you need a loan, or even utilities (your deposit on electrical, phone and other services is now based on your credit score). Hope this helps.
- Hmm replies to 4q2Credit is overrated, but probably not to the person that is complaining about having to pay. It's funny how people who get calls from debt collectors call the debt collectors minimum wage losers. Who's not paying their bills? Maybe the collectors are losers, too, but if people took responsibility for themselves, they wouldn't have to get uppity and defensive.
- Hmm replies to ???| 1 replyThey probably aren't ashamed. Seems many people here want someone to blame for their own faults. Someone's calling me? They must be a scammer, because I'm perfect.
- AnnoyedI get a call from this number around 5pm and no one leaves a message. I'm very annoyed by this. I have no Student loans why the hell would they call me.

- Me replies to Collection Advice| 1 replyThese people called me twice looking for info on some poor sap in my apartment building then they call wanting info on the landlord I gave em last time, As far as I can tell they are morons.
One thing I can tell you is even if you pay off old debt many times over, at more than 3 times over in my case, they will not abide by the law and stop harasing you, I have a debt I stoped paying around 20 years ago, I paid a minimum of $18,000 on that debt of $5000 before I gave up. Its been around 20 years since I stoped paying them and they still bug me here and there, I've threated to take em to federal court, etc. but they still bug me every few months, it would cost me more than its worth to sue em, I get forms for new credit cards all the time but I'm never again throwing 22.9% of my money away. I have a debit card and thats it. - Me replies to MePS I called the phone company on these people they said to file a complaint threw the state attorny generals office so I did. Everyone else these bozos have bothered should too!
- UnknownI just received a call from them pertaining to a family member. The woman lied and said that he applied for a job with them and she was doing a personal reference check. Once she asked me if I could confirm his permament address, I knew something was wrong. She tried to outwit me, but it sure as hell didn't work. As stated in previous postings, they involved me in collection efforts which is a crime.
