Got strange job offer using my Mandy profile which started with "Did you received my text?"

Definitely a scam. Has happened to multiple users. Gives you a strange job offer that uses your Mandy.com profile.

This is the message me and my friends have received. He changes name and position and sometimes phone number as well.

Hello, i'm Justine i saw your AD posted on Mandy for an Art Director / (Set Decorator) position .. After reviewing your profile, i feel excited with your past experiences,kindly send your recent resume,availability and sample of your recent job (link) to my email ( justinbenedict02@outlook.com) and i will get back to you with the full job details. Your prompt response will be highly appreciated.

Somebody using email tonknisity@outlook.com phone number 669-222-3778 is contacting people and pretending to be me. They are using my name to try to scam people out of money.

He/She using email sethtonk@zoho.com contact me, and the company name is Clear World Ent. Totally scam

Got the same. Supposed to be sending a check. Waiting to see what that looks like. Will not deposit.

Take the check check and the envelope to the Post Office, and they will forward it to the Postal Inspector.

I too am an electrical contractor and was contacted by Henry Marcos for electrical work in my home town. Wants me to provide a dollar amount for future work he will need done so he can pay me right away. But it is critical that I deposit it in my account immediately. Not exactly sure how this scam works but I told him I hope he rots in hell!

I know how the scam works.  The check includes a significant overpayment.  You are to deposit the check in your bank account then wire the excess to someone else.  Your wired money clears instantly.  The check from the scammer bounces, but that takes a week or more.  You are out the amount of money you wired to the scammer's friend.  You have to pay your bank a fee for depositing a bad check and you may face criminal charges for depositing that bad check.

Thanks for the info. I understood it was something like that but didn't know exactly how they pulled it off. Using the US mail to orchestrate this off makes it a Federal offence. I hope they get burned!

They only get burned if people take those checks and the envelopes they come in and send them to the Postal Inspectors.

Electrical Contractor - Just recieived same exact email..Also, waiting on check.....will never deposit....such a scam...I just hope no one ever falls for such crap. Will give everything back to post office...hopefully someone will catch these thieves!

Received services requested email same as what Robert said on this thread. Exactly the same story, name, number, and email. When someone gives you their life story for a service request, it should be a red flag.

I received the same email as well.  After reading these posts, told him I wasn't interested in the job and marked his mail as SPAM.  Thanks for the heads up.
