My wife was called from this number.The individual said that someone in her family had had a car accident and starting asking questions. When no information was given to him, he terminated the call.
I later called using my unlisted number but he would not pick up. I then use my cellphone and he used the same tactic. I questioned him but he would not give me any information about the cross street of the location of the car accident.

I called NYC 911 sevice. They said it was not an emergency. I then call 311 and the phone call dropped. Finally I called my local precinct (precinct 72 in Brooklyn at Fourth Avenue, phone number 718.965.6311) for about two hours at different extensions and they did not pick up. For the record, they do not pick up if the call does not go thru 311 or 911.

SCAMThe same thing happened to me . THey said my father was in car accident. Thankfully I could see my contacts on the phone and got someone to call my dad. Im still shaking and traumatized.  DONT ANSWER! SCAM.  

Received a missed call this morning, and minutes later, a text with the words "A car accident happen with someone you know please call back at this number"

I agree, the caller is guilty! Guilty of bad grammar.


I did not call or text the number. I Googled it and found this message board. Relieved to know this is a scam -- definitely not the words you want to wake up to on Christmas Eve.

Same thing, they can be convincing but if you have gotten this far you know not to worry.  Just hang up and block the call.

They told me my daughter ran over his nephew’s leg and his brother had a gun on her, they need money for medical because they can’t go to normal hospital.  No kid crying in background was first clue.
No cops and don’t call her because we have her phone.  Pretty good scam, it is sad to think this must work or they wouldn’t keep doing it.

I did manage to get a name out of them for the police, wanted money sent to Bronx NY.  All the commotion in the background there must have been five plus people on the phone pulling same scam.

This number texted me and told me they got in an accident with my family member and for me to call them. When I called they told me that my brother had gotten into a car accident and ran over their nephews legs. They also said they have a gun on my brother and if I don't give them $1500 for medical bills they are going to kill him. I called my brother on another phone and he was fine and did not get into any accident. So I hung up on the caller and called the police. They are trying to scam people and get money. I don't know who this person is, he said his name is Mitch but right before I hung up he said Bruno. He has a strong Hispanic accent.

This number called and text my sister today. Thank you whom ever put this board together. As of 12:21pm today they are still on the loose preying on people.

Same story here today. Call and then SMS. I did not respond to either. As of 1/15/15 9:40 AM EST they are still trying to scam people. I hope karma kicks their ass.

These Evil people called me and told me that My mother and father were in a car accident and they were gonna kill them if I don't Give them $1,700 right then and there. Or Give them anything valuable in the house.

Luckily I called my brother to call my mother and she was fine. I know this guy is Puerto Rican

Just got this text. Called it and talked to a Spanish guy who told me his brother got in an accident with a family member of mine. Seeemed like he was fishing for information to make me believe his story; trying to get names and/or locations out of me to make his story believable. I hung up on him, but really. C'mon man.

He just called my daughter telling her that someone she knows was in a car wreck.  She hung up on him and called me and gave me his number.  I called the number and there was no answer.  He then called me back and went on about an accident but had no details of location etc.  I told him I knew it was a scam and he said, "I ain't got no time for this sh*t!" and hung up.

Really? It's his scam.  I would think if he created it, he would have time to manage it.

Just hang up.  I registered the number with the FBI.

Just got a text and call this morning. I was in class and couldn't call back. I figured it was some sort of scam with the grammar errors and didnt leave me a voicemail. Some people  are just sick.

This fool almost scammed my ass!

I was at work when he was texting/calling me with the same story he gave other people as I read in the comments . That two of my cousins were in an accident wit his brother & nephew , they needed money for medical bills. Luckily I found a friend and had him call my cousins to make sure they were fine. Good thing I forgot my debit cards at home if not I would've really sent money. He is still out there [***] up peoples day.

I fell for this scam today that I'm seeing described in the comments above.  Happened this afternoon February 1st at roughly 2:30pm.  Caller claimed to have my sister who was unconscious after having been involved in an incident where his brother tried to kill her when she threatened to call the cops after a car accident.  These scammers use fear to paralyze your logic.  Demanded money before taking my sister to the hospital.  

Posting no personal information on  social websites will cause these types of calls to cease!
