- Me replies to ChrisI find that some of their agents are rude and overbearing, will others are considerate and polite. Just like the general population of the world. They United States is open for bussiness but we all are regular people with our own personalities, that's what makes us strong enough that aliens will do anything to sneak into our country just to be free and able to hear those annoying words. This is the law office of Brent Stamps this...ad nauseaum. ( that remark about voting for Obama, classic american humor, ) Stay happy America!
- Catryne replies to rob| 2 repliesI am currently going through the exact same issue. I have been trying to pay the bill. The hospital wants $500 a month through their payment plan! When I had the 10 minute non-invasive "procedure" done I was assured by my insurance company, the doctor's office AND the Piedmont hospital that I was covered and would have less than $500 total out of pocket expenses. I am a working mother with 2 children and cannot affort $500 a month. I've offered $200 a month and Piedmont refused. The person calling me has all of my information and is trying to force me to put the entire debt on my credit cards. He is rude, offensive and refusing to even give me the name of his "agency". He will not send me anything in writing. The hospital backs them up!!! Don't judge until you know!
- Who left the bag of idiots open? replies to triedofcomplaintsObviously you are a collection representative. If you are so tired of people complaining and being rude, find another job!!! Some people have hit hard times in the past 8 years due to lay offs and are trying their best to get caught up. It's not that they are deadbeats that are not paying their bills on time, you have no idea what that person is going through when you call threatening them with legal action and wage garnishments. You don't know their situation and most of the time don't care the situation. My main goal is to keep a roof over my kids head and food in their stomachs. When I am able to pay my medical bill, I will. So, stop blasting people for late bills because you don't know what has happened to them recently for them to get behind. Maybe they haven't been able to work because of the medical situation, maybe it's because of a layoff (like my situation). If you hate your job so much as a collection rep, then get a new one!
- Mb replies to robThen they should leave a voicemail with the appropriate information so that you can call them back. A lot of people will not answer the phone if they do not know the number and if they want us to rectify the situation how can we say never leave any information to call them back with
- JS replies to CatryneThey can't force you to pay what you cannot. Only a judge in a court of law can order you to pay X amount of dollars on any debt, not the bill collectors. They're blowing smoke up your butt when they make threats.
- BEWAREBEWARE, as to the question does he sue? yes he does. he has a lawsuit filed in court against me now. I've tried to resolve both with the original creditor as his cronies. they are the most unethical, shady group of bottom feeders I have ever run across. they do not care...not one of them, even if you are making an effort, it will not be enough. after reading others complaints and experiences on here and other sites (Google, various ways and all kinds of complaints and come up) I knew then not to give them any bank or credit card information. I do not trust them! they won't give information like a professional company and you cant speak to the "attorney" like a normal legitimate company plus they are curt and rude just like all the other complaints made. they do not operate like a legitimate law office or business. I don't know how this man is allowed to keep his law license. everyone who has had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with this bunch needs to blow a big bunch of KARMA their way, they will get theirs! .... but in the mean time, anyone else been thru this and any advice?

- bill replies to robLook jerk. Some ppl dont have the means to pay in full pr perhaps something has occurred beyond their control. Our pay has been stagnated along w benefits.
- Genia replies to robYou obviously have no clue what you are talking about and can't!! I received a bill from this agency and have NEVER received a bill from who they say they are collecting for. The amount is an outrageous amount and it gives zero information as to what the bill was for other than the name of the place the bill came from, not to mention I have insurance so I would have never received a bill from anyone for this amount anyway. I'm definitely calling the company before calling them. I have read only bad things about them.
- getfubar678-250-9918 new scam, calling offering a job, asking for a SS#, so they can offer you a 3 year conract with Verizon. Caller sounds of indian decent.
- File 13| 2 repliesIf you have the misfortune of incurring a medical debt with Piedmont Healthcare and make payment arrangements with them, be sure you pay them off within 90 days. Otherwise, you can expect a nasty call from Stamps' office, demanding payment in full---and regardless of whether or not you have kept up your end of the agreement. Piedmont's billing office does not tell you this....

- BigA replies to File 13Fortunately for you, once it is turned over to this criminal, you have protections under the law, and you can counter sue him for violations of the FDCPA.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
List of State AG’s offices: http://consumerfraudreporting.org/stateattorneygenerallist.php
Georgia AG: http://law.ga.gov/

And if you use the link to the Georgia bar in my above post, you can get his information and use it to file a complaint (go to the tab "for the people" and there in the drop down list is "file a complaint"). - Alfalfa replies to File 13Piedmont needs to make it clear from the getgo that accounts will be turned over to collections if it is not paid in full within 90 days. I would think twice before making payment arrangements with any creditor whose policy is to punish account holders who are simply doing what was asked of them.
This is not acceptable. - Brittany replies to CatryneYeah I've got calls too and they are rude. That law firm claim to collect payments but isn't giving accurate information about debt.
- SGMHa...got several calls fom them...wanted me to pay old medical bill that insuance originally denied because it was coded wrong...finally resolved issue with hospital and insuance and got confirmation of payment which I sent to this jackas-! They kept calling and threatened a lien. Now a friend who is an Atty. Is EXPLAINING to them the error of their ways.

- M replies to ChrisWhat does this have to do with Obama. Sad man....
- AfairI just got a call from this number. They left a message saying they had an urgent matter attached to my social security number and I needed to call them to give them my side of the story. They never once said my name in the message or who they were representing. The call came from Georgia and I live in Michigan. I have never even been to Georgia.
