- Steve| 6 repliesSCAM and nothing but a SCAM.Called me today (03/28/12). Caller implied/suggested that he was connected to AT&T and that he was calling about my account. He said that he was calling about my 5 lines with them. Nothing but BS and lies, as I have only 1 account with AT&T. This may be a coincidence, not sure, but the number of scam calls that I get each day has increased a thousand percent since Obama became Commander in Chief. I use to get around 2 scam calls a week before Obama became president, but now I get 5+ per day from different scammers. Are these the new jobs that obama promised us? Will we be lucky enough to get more if he stays? BTW..... I am an independent voter, not a rich Republican. It also sickens me for people on these blogs to refer to these SCAMMERS as telemarketers.
- Caller: LOSERS
- rjscamming/spammer that regularly calls implying he is with at&t. phishing for info so that he can have "directory" services added to your phone bill without your knowledge.
- Caller: scamming/spammer
- Call type: Prank
- BScam where they try to speak with the owner of the business about very serious trouble with your AT&T phone lines. They say that they are calling from the phone company. Extremely rude.
- The East Prairie Nutrition Center Inc| 3 repliesWe repeatedly receive phone calls from people who begin the conversation with: "I would like to speak to the person in charge of the AT&T account."
We are a NON Profit and we are on the DO NOT CALL LIST and continue to receive calls of this matter. We do not have time to talk to scammers and want it to STOP!- Caller: unknown

- Steve is an IDIOT replies to SteveWhat an IDIOT "Steve" is, and a liar too. He should be Willard Romney's running mate.
- LemonsI did not answer the call and when they do call I thank them for alerting me to the problem and tell them I will contact AT&T immediately. I never talk to the person that calls because this scam has been around for so long.
- Caller: Phone Scam
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Lemons replies to Steve| 1 replyI am not an OBama supporter but seriously can't blame this crap on him - much as I wish I could. It was just as bad under Bush. What you have to understand is a lot of the calls are not even from this country. They have software that makes a fake number show on the caller ID and that is why when you call back it's a bum number.
I personally blame my cell phone company for not having call blocker. But then our business phone don't have that either and we have to get a block machine to do it for us.
That said, on days they irritate me I have a lot of fun messing with them. Keeping them on the line as long as possible, giving them crap information... - Christina"Murray" called today re: to speak with our office manager re: our "lower rates with AT&T". When I said they were unavailable, they hung up on me, so I called back and spoke with "Russel" who said he was the floor manager and I explained that his rep hung up on me, and I asked them to take our number off the call list because this is the 5th time this month they have called and we have told them we are not interested. He then tried to rush me off the phone and I heard him yell in the background "Murray! stop hanging up on people!" which, he then didnt return to the phone call. These people are a**holes!
- Caller: Birch Communications
- Call type: Telemarketer
- JReceived a call from Ken Scott with "Birch" stating that they were representing ATT and can save money on our existing lines. He further went to attempt to make changes and I informed him that this business is NOT making any changes to our account so he needs to stop. Ken was VERY Aggressive about changing. I repeatedly informed him that we are not making any changes to our account and asked to speak to a Supervisor. He stated that they are all busy..... really??? - regardless they will attempt to slam you. If this happens to you make sure that you are registered with the DO Not Call registry and if so, you can file a complaint with the FTC. If you are not on the Do Not Call List, sign up... here's the site. https://www.donotcall.gov

- Caller: Unknown name
- Patricia replies to cc| 1 replyThere is a 'Do Not Call List" for business...Just FYI!
- Dee replies to PatriciaFor my information, what list are you referring to? Are you referring to the FTC/DNC Registry list or some other list. I need to know since I own a business and was told by the State of Oklahoma that the state and federal FTC/DNC would not bar telemarketing companies from calling my company since both applied to privately owned numbers.
Pls advise....thanks - Lisa| 1 replyThey are from AT&T and are trying to get you into a better plan...This is all true and we allowed them to try and quote something better but it's all BS. AT&T has been overcharging us for years but has offered to reimburse 2 months...once again, BS.
BTW- You can be on a DNC list - business or personal, but if you have done business with the company then it is legit for them to call.- Caller: AT&T
- Call type: Telemarketer
