I am receiving repeated calls from this number on my personal line and my work phone.  Total scam.  Probably the folks that filed a fraudulent tax return last year using my name and social.  I have turned the number into the FTC, FBI, and local and state law enforcement.

Just had a very interesting call from a Victor Wolfberg from Pinnacle. He said I took out an online loan back in 2009 from JP Morgan Bank for $300. I went round and round with him asking him to provide me that information since I know I never took out a loan. He said well maybe I should contact your family members - he had them all (or most of them), he had my ss#, my address and place of work. I knew he was a scam so I was throwing it all back at him. Right before he hung up on me he said he would contact my place of work. Let them ... because I don't believe they will. They are a bunch of bullys wanting us to give in and give them money. I told him no way would I give him anything unless he could prove to me that I took this loan out. He kept telling me he could send me two different letters ... yet at the end of the call, no letter is coming my way and he hung up on me. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE MONEY.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of the date of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office and the Georgia AG’s office:   http://law.ga.gov/

For a couple of months I kept getting a call from a recording from pinnacle with the guys that said his name was Johnathan. He said that I needed to call him about an opened account that was under review and I ignored it. Yesterday a woman by the name Victoria Gomez called my brother and told him that I owed 300.00 dollars but because of late fees it went up to 1500.00 that I owed and I knew that I didn't owe them nothing. So I called her back and told her that if they kept on harassing me and my family that I was going to call my attorney. She hung up

    Scam-Hunter
    Yep, another scam artist

To avoid any problems, if you get a call from a number you do not know, DO NOT ANSWER. Let it go to a non-personal voicemail and look up the number on here. If it is a reported scam, just block the number and report it. If it is not, and they leave no message, apprently it was not that important. If the number continues to call and leave no message, just block it to be safe, you never know.

If you do decide to call them back, block your caller id and remember:

    1. NO valid debt collector, goverment officiate, police dept etc is going to leave you a message stating:

"Going to serve you at your residence or place of employment."

    or

"This confidential message is to inform you that you have a legal matter pending to be filed against you within the next 24 hours.  To make your statement against this claim, which could result in garnishment or civil judgment, you must call" some random number with a fake case number...

If this was legit, don't you think they would have that info and already have been to your home?
They don't pre-warn you are being served, they just do it. If you get a case number on the call and are still concerned, call your local circuit clerk. They will be able to verify it and let you know also if they see anything else that may have been filed.

    _____________________________________________________________

    2. Never give any information over the phone!
Ask for verification in writing and do not CONFIRM any information either. The information they may have maybe old or out of date and they are trying to get new information to harass you further. If this is a valid debt, they will have the correct information to submit the verification letter. Collect as much information as you can to report to the FTC or attorney general such as:
Name of rep and supervisor name and direct number
Name of company calling and physical address (no po box)
name of company that the debt is from and physical address and phone number.
By law, they have to give you this information and they have to send verification of debt in writing, not by email or phone. If they resist in giving this info, hang up and report what you have.

pre-recorded call from Jonathan from Pinnacle Agency. he said my "account", (did not use my name) was submitted to Pinnacle for review. This sounds like a scam attempt. Don't call this number back. I use the "Don't Call Registry" 888.382.1222 to block calls like this. It lasts about six months then the bogus calls start again. Looks like it's time to renew.

Will not stop harassing me....what in the hell good is the FTC if they allow such scumbags to exist. My number is on the do not call list, a lot of good that does, any suggestions would be helpful. Have repeatedly told them I was going to report them, and I have, but they are still somehow on business???????

NRM, Pinnacle, Weinstein...they are all one and the same criminal, low life, bottom feeding scum.  They cast their net wide to try and nab that one sucker on false or out of date debts.  The debt is probably not even yours, yet they threaten, harass and strong arm, which by the way is highly illegal.  Don't be fooled into paying these fools.

This is what has worked for me to discourage and stop telemarketing and robo-calls:

(I have a Lg g2, android, Verizon phone.)

    Always register your number at:
    donotcall.gov

    1. I've installed a good call-blocker (try this one for free):
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wms.safestcallblocker
You will find that some calls still get through.

    2. Block all private and unidentified numbers. Add the numbers to the call-blocker app as they are received. These companies are resilient. "Allow" only numbers that are in your "contacts" list. You can turn your block settings on and off if you are expecting an important call othewise.

Even if you block their calls they can still gain access to your voicemail.
    So:

    3. Call your phone service provider and ask them to completely disable your voicemail. Make sure that you can't even access it without arranging for the service provider to turn it back on.

Anything less is not going to work for totally blocking these calls. Inform your friends that you have done this. They can always text you and you will always see the missed calls. You'll find that voicemail is no longer needed anyway.

    4. Make sure that your phone is set to notify you of any missed calls. This way, you can copy the call number and paste it into the donotcall.gov website as a complaint.

    5. Do not dismiss--ignore, disconnect, or answer these calls. This way, the calling entity will only get a never-ending ring. The frequency will diminish over time after their calls go unanswered and with no voicemail available.

    6. If these steps prove unsatisfactory, change your phone number.
