I keep getting calls from this number about Diabetic products.  I am not a diabetic, but if I were their having this information would be a violation of the HIPPA act and they could be fined.  They must be guessing about diabetes because detection of the disease is on the rise.

I will contact the FTC as someone posted as a suggestion.

I started to receive calls yesterday - 3 times.  Each time either no one on line or they would hang up.  Today, when I answered a woman started to speak and hung up.  My caller ID says "Kenmare MD".  I will try and contact FTC too as suggested.  She or they have got to be stopped!!!

We have received this call several times and wish to report the caller as they obviously
won't leave a message and we do not answer the phone as we do not recognize the number
and  have no idea what they want.  There is no valid reason for a telemarketer to call us as
we do not want to be bothered with them.

In the last 2 months, I have received 20 calls from this number. I have answered  6 of the calls and the person does not speak English. They ask for someone that I have never heard of. A man called on Thanksgiving morning from the number; I could barely understand what he was saying, again asking for this unknown person. Each time that I have answered, I have told them that they are calling my cell phone and to please take my number off of the list as I am on the DNC list and that I am not the person that they are calling for. In the last 6 days they have called 4 more times. Yesterday, I called the number back and the recording told me that if I did not want to receive information about their products to press 1; which I did. I do believe that this is harassment and I am going to file a complaint with the FTC

I find that on ATT one is only able to block local calls.  If an area code is involved, no dice.

I really regret this.  I just got my first call from these people today.  Won't answer after this.  I knew when I saw "Important Call" that is was bogus, and answered to give them a scolding.  Instead I just hung up.

There's that old saying, "You can't beat 'em. You just make them smarter and meaner"  I have always believed that.  If the no call list is being ignored by firms who are now "outsourced", we haven't got a chance.

    Rats!!!

I got a call from this number a couple of hours ago. The caller ID showed Important Call. As I answered, a lady with a very heavy foreign acent asked if I was (she used my correct last name and said it correctly as it is usually pretty hard to pronounce as it is Czechosolovakian). She said I was probably qualified for some kind of diabetic benefit. I asked her why she was calling me and she apologized and said her first question should have been "are you a diabetic?" I told her no, I was not and she apologized profusely and wished me a good day an we hung up. I am also a senior on the DNC List. I don't know where they are getting their numbers if they are calling cell phones, however, she could have gotten mine out of the AT&T phone book since she called on my land line.

If these people are calling about diabetics supplies and you have never heard of them, it is illegal for them to contact you unless they have your written permission or they have supplied you with some materiel or service before. Take down all the information you can and then call the Office of the Inspector General Fraud Hot-line in your state or your local police department. NEVER give them your personal information, like insurance or Medicare number even if they tell you the supplies will be free.

We received a call from this number @ 5:47PM CT and the callerid shows "Important Call".  Woman caller had thick accent as others described. She asked for me and when my family member was checking to see if I was available, she hung up.

Perhaps it was "Peggy" from the Discover card commercial and the location shown is in these videos is in Spencer, ND

These morons calling from 701-217-1195 are Liberty Medical ( http://www.libertymedical.com ), the diabetes mail order outfit that uses Wilford Brimley, the elderly actor, in their television commercials.
The calls are outsourced to a foreign country (the Philippines) in an attempt to circumvent US federal and individual state Do Not Call laws.
The (wo)man that calls says "National Diabetic Association," or similar, in a heavily accented, hard to understand voice.
A Google for "National Diabetic Association," "National Diabetics Association" and "National Diabetes Association" *ALL* return hits to the Liberty Medical web site!
Liberty Medical's toll-free number is 1-800-705-5797. Let them know directly how you feel about their violations and spoofed CID (displaying "IMPORTANT CALL" instead of Liberty Medical), along with filing complaints with national and state Do Not Call lists and the FTC.
Or if you're close enough to stop by, or prefer to write them in an attempt to get them to admit something useful as evidence in writing, here is their address:

    Liberty Medical Supply
    10400 South Federal Highway
    Port St. Lucie, Florida 34952

I received two unsolicited calls from these morons on December 06, 2010 @ 2:07PM and 4:20PM CST. Same woman on both calls and asked for my step-father, by name, both times. My step-father and I are both diabetic, but have NEVER contacted Liberty Medical, or anyone else. All our diabetic needs are taken care of locally and have been for years.
On first call told her she was in violation of federal Do Not Call list laws illegally spoofing Caller ID information - she promptly hung up.
On second call told her she had already called here earlier today, to immediately place this number on their do not call list and to stop the harassment or else.

Upon calling the 701-217-1195 number back there is no identifiable information given, only the choice to press "1" to be removed from their preferred caller list and placed on their do not call list.
And just to be complete, the 701-201 area code and exchange show to be for Spencer, North Dakota - which is just 2 miles outside of Bismarck.

I hope some of the information I have provided will be of some use to others...

I got a call on my land phone today.  Couldn't understand much of what she said so I asked her to spell who she was working for.  All I could understand was National  something and then G.I.C. - whatever that is.  I kept saying I can't understand anything she was saying and finally she hung up.

I have no idea who these fools are but we are on the National DNC list + the WI DNC List. These are annoying and I really want them to STOP!!!  I'm of the opinion that we should be able to Opt IN instead of OUT of these kind of calls.

Just got our first call from this number, during dinner. They hung up on the answering machine. Sounds like we should be expecting a lot more calls.

And they have the nerve to use "IMPORTANT CALL" as caller-ID info.

Thank you to our politicians, FTC, and FCC for allowing this crap to go on.

I pretended to be the person they asked for to gather information.  Telling them not to call back was not working after about 5 calls today.  They claim to be the National Diabetic Association and are trying to sell a medical device.  After pretending to be interested to gather information, I told them at the end of the call that I was reporting them to the FCC.  I did call the 800 number for Liberty Medical, and they claim to have no idea.

Received call from this number late morning, then an "out of area" call a bit later, followed by a "private caller" a few minutes later.  They actually had the audacity to put "IMPORTANT CALL" as the caller ID
