automated message offering steam cleaning of carpets.

A guy of 701-625-5009 called me and said: "Hi, this is Tom from Home Security Service...How are you? "  Since I've used ADT Security,  I knew he's a telemarketer, so I told him:  "DO NOT CALL me again!", then I hanged up.

It was an automated call from Carpet Care, when I press "one" I got a live person who hung up on me when I indicated that I was on the don't call list. Anyone know how to report this company?

Carpet Care - wanting to clean my carpet, and because I listened to the recording, "I'll clean your hall for free, too!"  I did the "push one if you'd like to make an appointment" and told her I'm on the Do Not Call List to which she hung up.  Sounds the same as what Corey experienced.  I've read up on the Do Not Call site and anyone who wants to can go to their site and register a complaint.  Here's the link: https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2 

Technically, the telephone exchange switch is identified as MNOTNDAUCM1. The phone number 701-625-5009 is assigned to WESTERN WIRELESS CORPORATION-ND and the actual exchange location is in MARTIN, ND.

I have the latest Panasonic phone which has blocking feature. No need to pay the phone company for that option.

Same as Mark above: Came up as FREE TUTORING. I didn't answer and caller left no message.

What I really dislike is they call my cell phone.  Luckily I have a large plan but it is frustrating.  No one is ever there, they just say if I do not want to recieve any more calls to dial 1.

I just received a similar call with a recorded message about carpet cleaning. I also pressed "1" and told the woman who answered to remove my name from their list. The voice sounded like the same one as in the recorded message. She told me to select Option 8 to be removed. I told her there was no Option 8 when I received the message and didn't think I could select Option 8 now.  She hung up on me. I verified that my number was on the National Do Not Call Registry and filed a complaint. On the Do Not Call Registry website, it stated that you do not have to be registered to file a complaint if it is a recorded message.

I've learned to save each number as "Telemarketer" plus the "Date". Then, I set my HTC / EVO phone to send these calls directly to Voicemail. I don't even hear the phone ring anymore. Then, even if they leave a VM, which few if any do, I just delete them without having to listen. Perhaps if more do the same it might help us all, after all, it does cost them something to buy the equipment, make calls (even if it just ties up their lines), etc. If nobody is listening, advertisers will quit paying telemarketers because too few will be responding and it will become financially unsound.

I just made an appointment to have my office carpets cleaned. I can't wait for the guy to show up so I can get more info to report to the FCC. Poor carpet cleaner guy is gonna be pissed himself for wasting all his gas driving out here to find no work and a big pissed off man askin' him all kinds of questions... If more people would do this these calls would stop pretty quick!

Received a call from 701-625-5009.  Reverse look-up indicates it s "FreeTutoring" in Martin, ND.  I did not answer. They did not leave a message.  Appears to be a sales scam.

Just recieved call from 701-625-5009 for carpet cleaning.

As others have posted the number resides to WESTERN WIRELESS CORPORATION-ND.  

It looks as if Western Wireless is a local phone company in the area of Martin ND.  However the company no longer exists.  They seem to have been purchased by Altel.

Depending on the state you are in you may have the option to sue the user of the phone number in court.  For example here in California you can get up to around $2500-$5000 for violating the DNC.

The problem is finding out who actually owns the phone number.

If you plan on trying to pursue this here is some info that may help you.

You need to subpoena Altel for the information on who actuall has the phone number.  This is ALltels info.  Call them to find out what legal department you need to send it too.
