I got a call from some rude and nasty person asking for not me but my mom. They were calling me on my cell phone. How they got my number I'll never know. All I know is she was rude and ignorant. She got mad and slammed the phone down. Figures a collection agency. Agencies hire people who have no skills to do anything else.

the lady that called me was extremely rude, hung up in my face and now she won't answer MY calls to her. I asked for a supervisor, she gave me a snicker and rude response and then hung up again. I guess she won't get any money from ME

Unknown debt collection agency. Received call on a Saturday. The number comes back to numbers owned by YMAX Comm aka ....Magic Jack.

Does a debt collector have to tell me anything else?

The person who calls you from a collection agency has to give you his or her name and the name of the agency. The caller cannot pretend to be someone else. A collection agency cannot lie about who it is or send documents that mislead you.

Same rude response. Saturday morning phone rings automated voice asking if this is me so I hung up and called back. A lady (if you can call her that) was rude and asked if it was me (sure) I said no then she demanded I identify myself so I laughed and she hung up? I did have some bills that I paid off several months ago. I had surgery last year and was out of work, try paying your bills on state disability. I will never do any financial payment on the phone without a bill in the mail and an explanation of services rendered.

She refused to give me her full name before slamming the phone down which is illegal for her to do.

the customer support at mnet financial had no issues giving me her name when i reported her behavior.

She had been calling me on my cell a bunch of times on weekends or when i am at work to collect a debt that was paid the moment i had the first bill (the hospital sent it to the wrong address, it was corrected they got paid)

If you get a call from her, expect very rude, bullying treatment, and if you state any of the law that she has to abide by to her about her work line, she acts like a spoiled little brat....  Fun stuff

MNET FINANCIAL Several calls from the rude Linda person for someone else not at my number.  I called her back and cursed her out.  She hung up so I proceeded to psycho call her to she sees how it feels.  Then filed complaint to stop calls with FCC.gov, BBB and sent numerous emails to the company's website, sales dept, hq. Let's see how they like the harassment. I don't owe them anything and they admit it but won't stop calling.

As someone who has worked in medical collections, I'd like to clear up some misconceptions here. We are in no way legally obligated to provide our full names. We are legally obligated to give our company name and disclose we are attempting to collect a debt. That's it. Also, if you believe you have paid the bills in question, the best way to stop calls is to simply provide documentation of the payment. Ignoring calls will lead to credit reporting, and unless a debt is disputed in writing and the debt is proved by the debtor or facility to be an error, it is legally treated as a true and valid debt, as per federal law. I know it can be frustrating to get a call from a collector, but refusing to pay is the worst thing you can do.
