Magic Jack number used in a scam.  was used to get money from NV Energy customers.  called saying their electric would be turned off within the hour if payment was not receicved.  good thing my friend that this happened too was quick to know that bill is paid electronically out of the company checking.  Lesson here:  don't believe everything people tell you, call your companies/vendors/customers first to double check.

The gentleman said he was the supervisor with the Disconnect Service with NV Energy James Martinez, said we were behind and someone was coming out to disconnect our service in 30minutes, I told him we were current and that we have not received any letters of past due, told him we have our account paid automatically month as well, he said we would have to come down in person and pay and that noone could take a payment over the phone, i told him this was a scam!!!!  Phone call went Dead!!!!

We also got a call from 702-421-5630 claiming to be the disconnection department with NV Energy.  They are pretty convincing however they told me that I would need to take Cash to a 7-11 to make the payment  - credit cards couldn't be taken over the phone.  RED FLAG #1. They called me back several times, each time stating that I would be disconnected within the hour.  How much time did I need to get to the payment center. RED FLAG #2.  We all know that NV Energy wouldn't go through that much trouble to make sure you aren't disconnected.  
DO NOT give them any personal information. I let the guy know that I was onto his scam and he hung up.

Same thing as previously stated by others.  They call claiming they will disconnect service in 45 minutes unless we pay cash at a payment center.  We are on auto-pay.  Beware.  

I got the same call!! A male stating that he was from NV Power told me that within 30 min my power will be shut off, I told him, "OK, come on down and shut it off"!! I knew this was a scam. He hung up.

This is a scam.  NV power saying they are going to disconnect.  I called them back and stated that the police are getting involved and they hung up.  Losers!

Same as above.  NV Energy Disconnect Dept claiming they will discount our power in 40 minutes if we don't make a payment immediately by phone.  Called number back and they even anwered as "NV Energy".  They hung up when I asked them if they are trying to scam people.  I reported it to the Southern NV BBB and they are letting the news media know.

We received a call from this # posing to be sending a driver out to shut off power to the building, using nv energy as their contact--they wanted to talk to the owner, was threatened after telling them I had to take a message. Don't know what these people are trying to do, probably just a sales call

Got another call from this # again..... told them we are on to them and they hung up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I asked for their telephone number that they were calling from and I was told they don't have a telephone number. I said what is the phone number that you are calling from and they said they could give me the web site information.
