"id says cty. sounds like an abbreviation of maybe city bank."

Which is why I picked up the phone, something I normally wouldn't do. I hung up when I realized it wasn't them. And it's not that we don't want a medical alert system. We're suspicious of those who phone advertising things like that without having sent in a request to be contacted first.

"Free"? I doubt it. There's a catch somewhere.

    called around 6:53pm
i have found out that its a promotion center trying to give away a fully paid for senior alert aid/system for senior citizens.
tried to talk with kristy her id number 5901.
she stated it was a promotion center that has an auto dialer set up for calling people.
she would not comply with my questions on what is the number to call back, what is the name of the company and any other numbers so i can contact for this alert system. she was extremely rude and have removed my number from the call system in her promotion department. i am hoping that she has removed my number from their system.

Other numbers recently used are 360-633-9455 and 720-315-7922. This frequent switching of numbers is intended to defeat call blocking systems and monitoring by govt. enforcers. In calling me, they are violating two federal regulations: robo-calls are illegal and so are calls to phones on the Do Not Call list. A legitimate business would not behave this way. Played along with them once and was told I didn't "qualify" because I do not own my home and cannot install their system. After that, the calls continued to come in at the rate of at least one a day. Proof that it's all done by machine to random numbers. Once you answer, it triggers the machine that the number is active and you will hear from them for the rest of your life — or until the feds finally get enough personnel to enforce the laws.

You are in error. There is a third violation. Caller ID Spoofing, especially to defraud, is a crime.

"Uh, this is John from shipping, your alarm is already paid for..." SCAM robo call
    Caller ID: "Cell Phone NV"

    also called from: (805) 570-6779 | (425) 406-9436 | (201) 499-0217 | (201) 367-1691 | (610) 755-8482 | (484) 483-6286 | (732) 510-5497 | (610) 257-7095

This one's slick, I actually thought there was a live person on the line the first time I heard this call. I could hear him flipping the pages of paper he was reading and I was all set to "play" with the caller when I realized that it was a recording. I wish I had a nickel for each time he said "...uh..."  Following is the text of the recorded robo call...

"Hi, uh, this is John from the shipping department of Emergency Medical Alert, I was calling to uh schedule a delivery of your medical alert system, it's uh the "fallen, and I can't get up" type of system you've seen on TV. Looks like the system's been uh recommended by thousands of hospitals and medical professionals, uh, let's see, says here that the system's already been paid for. Looks like you're getting the system because uh either yourself, a friend, a family member or maybe even someone you know has experienced a fall in the past so uh again it's already been paid for so there's no cost to your whatsoever. Also says here that the shipping has already been paid for so to uh schedule the delivery of your Emergency Medical Alert System press 1 uh again to uh have your system shipped out to you press 1 now...press 5 to decline the shipment of your system...."

I keep getting calls from these scum balls every day.  No use blocking the number as they just keep calling back on another number.  I never answer calls that are out of state or where the caller's name does not appear on my Caller ID display.  Still it is aggravating to stop whatever I am doing to go to the phone only to see that it is a telemarketer.   Will file a complaint with the FTC knowing that will do no good.

You should invest in one of the phones that has talking Caller ID and also happens to include a blocking function. The newest ones block up to 250 numbers. That way you can hear if the caller is some one you want to talk to and have a greater blocking capacity.  The latest models also suppress the 1st ring so you only know a blocked number called when you check your missed calls list.

When you answer a live call and tell them what's on your mind, they don't understand b/c English is not their primary language. Try asking them something that is not on their script and they can't find the answer.
But, really folks, DO NOT ANSWER. If you don't have caller ID and the call is important, your caller will call back immediately. Just be sure that you tell your friends that that is how you are handling your calls. Tell your friends to call back immediately.

Have received this obnoxious robo call from multiple numbers across the country several times daily for past several weeks.  Goes in cycles.  Bunches of calls for several weeks, then nothing for a while.  They don't pay any attention when I tell them am on the National Do Not Call Registry.
