This number has been used by a profile on Facebook trying to "Catfish" people. User name is Jessica Shetrone. DO NOT ACCEPT REQUEST!!!!!

How funny, "Lisa Markin" just requested my boyfriend on Facebook. And gave him this number. The profile is an obvious catfish page.

Yeah I just got a friend request from that number named Lisa Ballin saying thanks for the Add and asked me where I work and gave me this number I figured it was one of those Porn things or a phone sex number or a Catfish what are they asking everybody else and what are they doing are they trying 2 hack ur profile or somethin

Yeah I got a friend request from Lisa Ballin she ask what kinda job I had and gave me a number 702-830-5460 so I posted her comment and tagged her in it and shared it on my FB page then I told everybody 2 call her and I dunno if anybody got thru but I kept msging her and one of my friends tried 2 call that MTV Catfish show and they said they would give my friend a call back 2 get more info so hopefully they try and try 2 find him or her haha

Same thing. I got a message from Lisa Safe. ( www.facebook.com/olof.conrad.77 ) I never heard of this person before. She wanted to add me as friend on Facebook and also wrote me a message.

The account that is sending these messages is a fake account set up to send these messages in hopes that you will respond to them via text message. If you do, you will be sent a link to a pornographic site, according to a poster here who did text the number.

If you get a message with this number:

1) Unfriend the person sending the message.
2) Report the account to Facebook as either fake, spam, or scam.

In order to protect your information, as there is potential for identity theft as well:

1) Go to your privacy settings at the top of the page in the left hand corner.
2) Hide the following:
Your phone number
Your email address
Your date of birth (you can hide only year if you'd prefer)
3) Hide your friend list.

In the case of phone number, email, and DOB, there is no real reason this needs to be on Facebook. Anybody close enough to call or email you probably already has this information stored in their phone or email contact list. They probably know your birthday as well.

As for your friend list, I believe this is how this number is finding new contacts. Hiding your friends list will prevent the people you know from falling victim.
