They are fake. They put debt on my credit for a duplicate bill that troubled me alot. They should be closed down because putting something that doesnt exsist is not a right thing at all ..it affects the credit history. They are very rude, unexperienced and illeterate people.

My story is similar to others'.  Because I'm unemployed - but trying awfully hard - I swallow my pride and answer all calls in hopes of happening upon a way out.  But to presume that I should hold the phone and thereby affirm my identity?  That's creepy.  Today is the day after Trump has won the presidency.  I no longer feel compelled to give shadowy entities any quarter whatsoever.  Does anyone know ACEI's address?  Would the municipality reconsider their business license?  Would a (polite!!) visit do any good?

If you Google ACEI, it will show you their address in Arlington, VA!  They say they do not BUY the debt, but we debt collectors..meaning they are given the debt by the hospital or doctors office . These reviews seem to mainly show debts that are medical, but not all! What bothers me about this company is they ask you go get it all your info, like the last  digits of your social security number! They should have all this!!  SCAM ARTISTS usually ask for your info! So a little leery of this company.I suggest  Googling....Federal Trade Commission FREE credit report! Order a copy of your report if you are unsure if you owe anything! It's supposed to be on there IF you have not paid the bill in years! I'd do that bEFORE calling them! Once you contact them, they will insist you owe it and are VERY MEAN AND RUDE AND THREATENING! If you know you owe, then call! If you are unsure, get your free credit report first. Then decide!

They call all the time. I don't owe anyone and yet I've talked them b4 and now they continue to call. Each time it's a different amt and they are asking for way to much personal info. I don't  owe anyone money. I have spoken to every Dr. I have seen and o owe no one. How do you make them stop. Its embarrassing it goes to all my voicemails every number to my home. I refuse to change my # I've had it for 15 plus years.

I totally understand. But I was asked for my first 5 digits of the ss# associated with the person they were calling for. As I stated every Dr my deceased elderly mother had seen has been paid in full. Once again e1 gets the last 4 of a ss# who in thier right mind would give up the first 5. I may be young but I wasn't born yesterday.. My advice is to block those numbers they don't put you on a do not call list. The estate was settled over 10 years ago. Bumbling idiots. So hopefully by sharing my story we can get them investigated.

If you spent more time reading and less time replying to posts made in 2008 you would learn a great deal.

I was asked to verify SSN, which I didn't.  Then verify last 4 digits, again I refused.  I then asked what this was about?  I was told he was trying to collect a medical debt and to verify my birthday, which I declined to do.  I told home I have no debt and to remove my number from their list.  I doubt that will be done.

You will need to send them a cease and desist calling letter by certified, return receipt mail.

    Very mad
My elderly mom received a call asking for me. She didn’t give them any of my personal information, but passed along a message that they wanted me to call them back. After reading this thread, I’m not going to call them.
