said he was from I.R.S. and threatened my arrest then hung up on me

I sent in a message about a man saying he was from IRS said I had a law suit against me and I was going to be arrested. He said hjs badge number was 7997025 his call came from Virginia phone number 703 459 9332

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.  Ignore and block the calls.  This scam has been going around for a while.

IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and ask for money. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

Man with heavy accent left message on home phone stating Badge no. 7997025 he was calling from the Internal Revenue Service/Law and Order.  There is a legal petition which has been filed against your name for tax evasion and willful fraud.  I need you to call back 703-459-9332.  DO NOT DISREGARD THIS MESSAGE.  CALL US BACK!

Got the same call today. He left a message for me to call back...can't wait to call back tomorrow and bust his a@@ after I play with him for a while.

Got a scam call from this number today. Guess I'm in trouble for fraud LOL. He said he was with the IRS and I should not disregard this call. These scammers don't give up.

This is an enormous scam that we've been warned about.  Do not talk to these people.  Call is from 703 459 9332.  I've gotten this call from other numbers as well.  IRS never calls people they send mail.

Got a call just now from a person claiming to be Alan Smith, providing me with a badge number 7997025 from the IRS claiming there was a lawsuit against me. Hung up when I informed him I was aware of these scams and how the IRS would actually contact me. Received a similar call last week.

This is the second call i have received threatening legal action from the IRS.  The voice sounded foreign but stated that he was from the IRS and there has been a legal claim against me for tax evasion.

I got the same call/message.  I did call back and while he was telling me about the charges and threats of arrest and freezing of our bank accounts, I Googled the phone number.  I then aske him why this phone number is showing up on a fraud list and he hung up.  COMPLETE SCAM!

I got the same call with the same badge number listed above like others. Are we all attached to the same case? LOL I am apparently in trouble for tax evasion and willful assault. Wow, did I assault my tax preparer?

We got the same call on our answering machine.  I am not calling back.

Got the same message tonight.  Did some checking on the number.  Phone number is provided by Bandwidth.com in VA.  Their contact info for general corporate inquiries: Email - info@bandwidth.com  Phone - (800) 808-5150.  Should anyone like to contact the provider.

I received a call stating this gentlemen was from the IRS.  Thought it was a total scam like the others on this site.  It is, this company sounds like they are overseas as the number they called from did not match the call back number as well.  People should disregard this call and number.  Even the company sounds like they just copied the tv show title Law and Order!

703-459-9332 Scottish accented man called from this number, left a msg saying I was wanted for tax evasion. Total scam as I have honestly paid taxes for all my working years. Besides, the IRS does not call and leave messages on a Sunday.
