- Call type: Prank
- DaveJust got a call from 703-459-9372 from Marathon, FL claiming to be IRS audit department.
- MEL| 2 repliesCalled me twice on my answering machine. I called them back and someone answered the 2nd time. They informed me they sent 2 certified letter in Jan and Feb of this year that went unanswered and that they have done an Audit on my taxes the last 5 years. I told them I have all my tax records and would like to arrange a meeting with them. He wanted me to go to Virginia and I told him NO. I instructed him to fax there material to my fax number and I would arrange my Lawyer to look into it. They wanted the fax # of my Lawyer. I said fine but when I got back on the phone to give my Lawyers number, that person hanged up. I called 703-459-9372 x4 and left message x2. Now its difficult to get hold of them. I think I will keep calling this number everyday for a month to see what happens.
- Caller: IRS audit?
- Mark replies to MELMel, this is a scam. Don't call them back. And most important, don't give any info.
- F themI received a call from this number claiming too be IRS but I happen to know IRS doesn't call they write letters. The SOB hung up on me when I asked what they wanted. So I have been calling them back every 15min. to 1/2 hr. and have been talking just down right nasty trash to them calling them every name in the book until they hang up on me then I call them back and do it all over again I let them know I will be doing this to them every time I get some down time which will be a lot because I am unemployed and have been for 2 years. So they will be getting nasty phone calls from me all day every day for a long time. Just today alone with in the past 40 min. I have called them 20 time and talked the most nasty foul things a person can imagine they have bugged the wrong person and I plan to let them know.
- Caller: IRS SCAM
- F them replies to MELIf you do call them back don't give them any info they ARE LAIRS and are trying to SCAM you I'm all over these guys like white on rice hell I'm calling them right now while I'm typing this just so I can talk trash to them again. This has been a on going scam for years.
- GaryI got this call from 703 459 9372 this AM and called them back. I too spoke to a person with a heavy accent who told me that my wife was audited and underpaid her taxes. They sent me two letters in january and since I hadn't responded, I was considered to be a tax evader and they would be bringing charges against my wife. I should get a "good" tax attorney. Otherwise I would be hearing from the sheriff. I was a wreck all day long until I spoke to my friend,an attorney, and he told me this was a scam. I am going to go to the local IRS office to report this.
- F themThis number called me again to day. LOL I have been calling this number for the past few days now and I have been getting a holed of a person with a very heavy accent. I have been talking some nasty thing to him every hr on the hr hell got him so pissed off that he started say very vulgar things as well as threaten me with bodily harm. At first he just answered the phone with hello then it turned into IRS then it turned into revenue service. I even got the guy to admit that he might not have fooled me but there are plenty of other people out there as he laughed. Again I told him I got nothing but time on my hands and he can plan on me tying up his phone-line everyday as long as he has this number.
- Caller: IRS SCAM
- MarkReceived a call threatening IRS action. Completely bogus. They are stepping up their game by saying they sent a certified letter earlier which was returned. this number and similar call from 703-828-0618 -- now blocked.

- F them| 7 repliesMark, I appreciate you putting a number up there to warn of the other scams going on. I am in the process of calling this number and will soon be calling the number that you have posted to harass them each and every single day every hour on the hour. I have also signed up this number for hundreds of phone survey phone calls. They will be receiving phone calls all day long from companies that will be trying to give them surveys. I am going to overload these numbers with spam or phone spam. They will be receiving an annoying amount of phone calls from all sorts of companies. I have made it a personal mission to bug these people until they can't take it anymore and since I am only one person I thank the Internet and close friends that have given me knowledge of how to overload someones phone number with phone spam?I know it might seem that I am obsessed with this because of my other post. I just want people to know that look this phone number up in fear or pissed off that there is somebody out there that is taking the time to make these people that are trying to scam and turning their day into one big headache.
- Caller: IRS SCAM
- Pudge replies to F them| 6 repliesFirst of all, this is a well known scam and the FTC and IRS have posted information about it. It's also been featured in many news stories. Read here:

As to your vigilante tactic, did it ever dawn on you that the number is likely spoofed? Most of these scams originate in India or Pakistan, some in Russia. You may be calling some innocent person whose number has been spoofed. - F them replies to Pudge| 5 repliesFirst of all, just because it's well known to you doesn't mean that it is to everyone and yes I have and if you didn't know they leave there # on your answering machine and ask for you to call them back. They want your money. Try calling the number and you will get in touch with the person doing the scam they claim to be IRS but if you try to talk to them and ask the proper questions they get pissed off and start saying vulgar things to you and start making threats that no state or government office would ever make. So yes I have done my research and I have made the phone calls and I have talked with the same person that called me claiming to be with the IRS. I didn't just fly off the handle I made good and sure that the person on the other end of the phone line was the same person that called me with the BS IRS scam. Sometimes it's smart to check things out before a person just goes on to assume that just because its a scam the # must be a spoof too. Your right, I keep calling this number and talking to an innocent person that happens to be the same guy that called me in the first place and that claims to be with the IRS and that if I don't give them money that I'm going to jail. Here is your sign.
- Pudge replies to F them| 4 repliesIf it's the same number, all you have to do is block it. Look, It's normal and healthy to feel angry about these calls to your home but you've already helped put a dent in their "business" by posting information here. Education is the best way to keep people from being scammed. Chances are he/she/it will change their number a few times and eventually, your call will go somewhere else or just get one of those "number not in service" recordings. While a applaud your efforts to stop these bozos, I also urge caution. You or others following your plan could end up having their calls rerouted to an overseas porn site. You don't even know that you've been rerouted until you get an exorbitant $150.00 added to your phone bill. This is a tactic that has been used by many of the scammers to discourage repeat callers. By all means, do what you feel you must but be careful and don't encourage others to engage in risky behavior.
- F them replies to Pudge| 3 repliesYour clueless, I don't want to block it. I want to attack it, in case you have had a hard time figuring that out from all the posts I have posted. I'm not calling them from my house number and the numbers I call from are all numbers that a site (that will remain anonymous) gave me and the minutes don't affect my phone or wallet regardless of them sending it to an adult hot-line or not because it's all free. This is not my first rodeo. Don't try and talk down to me with that statement of what normal or healthy is, you sound like a person that would hide when trouble sticks it's head in the mix. I think you need to re-read things a few times before you let anything stumble through your thought process. Never once have I encouraged others to do what I'm doing and you can call it risky but I call it taking a stand. My stand that I have taken has payed off FYI. After all the Phone Spam I sent them and nasty phone calls to this number I made, the number has been disconnected for the past few days and yes I like too think I had something to do with that. If people read the IRS site and all the complaints that people have made regarding this number along with other # you will notice that nothing ever gets done about it EVER.
- Tamianth replies to F them| 2 repliesCalling numbers back doesn't help matters, in fact can make them worse. Its bad because the numbers are spoofed as a ROT. You could be calling some innocent persons number or a innocent business that had nothing to do with the calls. While we understand that it is a frustrating thing, its just a super bad idea. Further more, you can get into legal trouble for it yourself. And some of the numbers these guy's are using are real government office numbers to appear real. And keep this also in mind: they do use peoples numbers in retaliation. You could end up being on the receiving line of just this kind of call.

Consider buying a call blocking device or phone. Many are around $40.00 and can block up to 1500 numbers. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

http://www.fraud.org/ - F them replies to Tamianth| 1 replyObviously it helped this matter, and it didn't or will it ever make things worse. No the numbers are not spoofed as a ROT you probably don't even understand that kind of system. Thank goodness I didn't call an innocent person huh, you need to quit living in the maybe world not one of those things you posted are going to help stop any of this., and NO they DO NOT USE GOVERNMENT PHONE NUMBERS to make these scam calls. You can look up all the sites on the internet and still not get anything done regardless of how many complaints are filled. Everything you Just said in the first part of your pedantic statement is a LIE, and there is no legal action that can be taken.
- F them replies to F themI accomplished what I set out to do in regards to this #. Got more done to stop this number from it's objectives than all your sorry (look what link I posted that can help you file a complaint garbage) , And on that note, later days people, I'm out.
- Azad| 1 replyAlso keep getting call from this same number 703-459-9372.. someone with an Indian accent said, From IRS.
This is an automated system generated message from IRS and stated to returned undelivered resulting in to a lawsuit to be prosecuted against me. Also said I repeat it's 703-459-9372 before any legal actions are taken to forcefully recover the amount unpaid. Thank you."- Caller: 703-459-9372
- Kat replies to AzadScam! The IRS doesn't call, they send mail. They also don't threaten to "forcefully recover the amount unpaid". Block and ignore their calls.
