I am just opening up a number report on this number.  I have received two calls from them with caller ID "Woodbridge," which is in Virginia near Washington DC.  There is an aggressive phisher/telemarketer operating out of this area, so it might be them.  I did not answer the calls and they hung up after three rings.  Multiple calls with that patter almost always signal a telemarketer/phisher.

OK. Second call today so I am blocking it.  This time they stayed on long enough to trigger my voicemail and leave a message, but it was just static.  So I called the number back (using *67 to block my number) and got a guy with an oriental accent who said they are with Sparks Real Estate and the company is calling everyone to find if they have any real estate for sale.  The way you do that is go to property records and find names and addresses of property owners and call them.  I get three or four flyers in the mail a week from various parasitic real estate hustlers.  Now they are telemarketing also.
Oh, and he admitted they don't bother to check the do not call list.

I hate to keep beating this one up, but I found that there really is a Sparks Real Estate Group and it is behind the calls.  The "Group" is actually a ReMax agent named Kathy Sparks whose personal number is 703-407-2113.  In conversation with me, she admitted hiring a group to make solicitation calls for property to sell.  Of course she said that they were instructed to use the Do Not Call List.

I really hate telemarketers but also real estate agents.  Now I found both wrapped in one.  I think I will see how much trouble I can cause her--hmm complaint to FTC of course, but how about National Board of Realtors.
