This is nothing but a third party spammer claiming to raise donations for American vets.  There is no way to verify where the donations really go.  Don't bother giving to this spammer.  There are better charities out there that do more to help people than a third party middleman getting their cut.

I drive past this thrift shop on the way home from work.  It was my understanding that it is a for-profit shop.  We get calls from them regularly.  Got one just now at 8:43 PM.

Why give old clothes to this bogus charity so they can sell it for profit.  Why give money either.

Thanks for the info.  I have blocked them in the past.  My understnding is that auto dialers that dial a loaded list of 5, 10, or 20 known numbers are legal.  Auto dialers that search for random numbers that work (otherwise known as robo callers) are not legal.  Williing to be wrong.  In any case there is a solutuion for robo callers on voice over data systems such as fios.  search for it.  My opionion this is a robo call.   .

Yes, and I had to disable "N0 M0" so the insurance co. to get through. And sure enough – this was the first call I got!

Am Vets CDSI has a certain notoriety in Northern Virginia, as they are not a real charity, not appearing on either the State of Virginia or IRS lists of approved, licensed charities. They sell whatever is donated for profit and all funds donations go into the pockets of the organizers, which is typical. Although they have a visible store front, despite numerous complaints to local police, they are still in business with their robo-dialers. They also operate using other names and numbers. I'm sure the new administration will love them.

Have their number blocked.  In looking at my telephone carrier's phone log, I see they tried to call 17 times in the past several days.  Guess their computer dialer doesn't have the logic built in to understand when they are being blocked.  No doubt the call center, Central Donations, is one of the worst in not respecting your desire not to be called.  Pretty sure they also call for BBBS, NCC, Lupus, etc.

One wonders why they were not shut down long ago and their store pad-locked. We have five different phony breast cancer charities forever robo-calling in Northern Virginia, and I would not be surprised if they are affiliated with Amvets. Blocked.

From the posts written here, CDSI is a charity scammer that is very much for profit (their own).   Dont give them any money or info.  They still call from time to time even though we never give.

For over two years, AMVETS CDSI has been conducting their fraudulent solicitations with frequent telephone harassment. Despite complaints to the Virginia Attorney General, FTC and FCC online, AMVETS operates with impunity. Eventually, enough complaints to all three entities, and they will be shut down. It is not a real, registered charity, nor do they have any charity legitimacy in Virginia or with the IRS. The number 703-780-1507 is also used by Central Donations, which has associated notoriety as a phony charity and uses a variety of phone numbers to conduct their fraudulent operations. For shame, soliciting for veterans and just pocketing the profits. Still blocked.

This number is also used for Lupus, Big Brother Big Sisters, Breast Cancer, AMVETS and other equally fraudulent charities. If everyone complains online to their State Attorney General, FCC and FTC, eventually these fraudsters will be shut down, fined and prosecuted. One wonders why their local store front is still open. Have received multiple calls. No message left.  No message- No conversation. SCAM

Different numbers. For the last 3 years been calling from a 301 area code. My phone blocks area codes. 301, 240, blocked. Now 703 will be blocked.

Unbelievable, this phony charity is still blatantly robo-calling and soliciting, despite complaints online to the State Attorney General, FCC and FTC! Evidently, not enough people are filing complaints, which is why they are still in operation, soliciting for several phony charities. C’mon folks, please file complaints online, as eventually a magic number will be reached, which will prompt them into action. While the Feds might be out for awhile due to budget issues, your State Attorney General is still open and enthusiastic! Blocked!
