SCAM CALL • IRS IMPOSTER (2/13/2015) • Here is what they said “This is officer Scott Anderson calling you from Internal 11 your service. The reason off my call is to give you a verbal notification in regards to a federal complaint has been filed against your name and your identity. Right now there are three serious charges against you the National Bureau of Crime Investigation Department. So before anything goes wrong before we take any fee that that's against you. I want you to give me a call back on urgent basis on my number which is 703-822-4608. I repeat 887038224608 and if you feel to call me back when you will not responsible for the further legal action taken against you. Thank you and have a great day."

I think Anonymous had posted against the wrong telephone number. 703-822-8600 is a legitimate company called PBGC, website www.pbgc.gov. I just got a call from them that was a legitimate follow-up call for a service that I had initiated. I didn't recognize the number when they called, so I looked it up on this site. They did leave a message. No worries about this one!

I can verify that. I am in the process of retiring and have been dealing with the PBGC regarding a pension from a previous company I worked for that went bankrupt. the are good people.

This is a valid number.  It belongs to the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) a U.S. Government Agency

It is/was getting SPOOFED by scammers so it isn't totally legit.

I received this call yesterday. They said some pension documents pertaining to my old job had been sent to me, but had been returned. I gave them my current address and birthday (verification purposes). I can't think of any info I gave them that they could take advantage of, but I'm second guessing myself now.

Maybe this number was spoofed in the past, but it is currently a legit number for PBGC. They handle pensions for several companies and parts of the government. They returned my call regarding a pension issue.
