This number called my cell phone @ 6:07 pm. 6-30-09
I did not answer because if I don't recognize the number I normally let it go to voicemail. I checked online and found this posting about the exact same number and just thought I write a quick post also. Nobody left a message. Just be careful, don't get scammed!

They called from 704-220-0638.  A recorded message told me to call them back at 888-837-2927, so they could place my business in Local Google Search.  The recorded message was customized to address my specific business!  Did a Google search of the 888 number, with no results found.  We all  have two weapons against these callers: an answering machine, and caller ID!  If you don't have them, get them.  When you receive a call you don't recognize, let the machine get it.  Then Google the number, and bingo! -- You find sites like this!

When you call it back it just states that if you have received this call in error just press 1 to be removed.

I say we just keep calling this number to get on this guys nerves.

I also got the call on my cell, I did not pick it up. I called back later and got the same as everyone else..I would be very carefull and not press one as they might later use your reply as acceptance to some subscription by way of phone.

I just got a call from them at 5:54pm. Its annoying enough when solicitors call your house but its unacceptable when they start calling your cell phone.

Just received a call. Something about a mortgage bail out. I don't have a mortgage.

These idiots keep calling and no one is there.   They have to come out with a law against this or a way for Verizon to put these numbers on a list so they can't get through any more like Email has. Help!

704-220-0638 has appeared on my cell phone about 4 times in the last few days.  I never answered and no msg. was left.  Out of curiousity, I picked up today and heard brief recording about mortgage bailout money.  Knowing it was a scam, but curious and amused, I pushed the proper key for a live person and got an illiterate African American sounding CHILD who could not even articulate properly.  I asked for him to repeat the name of the company that had called me so I could understand the "name" and he hung up.  I called back and was greeted w/ the same recording that everyone else on this string has heard, "pls. enter your phone number to be removed from our list."  My question is...even though it's annoying enough that these companies are getting ahold of our cell phone #'s and we are all listed on "do not disturb" lists...my question still is, "what are they accomplishing if they are hanging up when some of us DO pick up?"

Received a call from that number on 08/20/09 at 2:52 PM.  Didn't recognize the #, and didn't answer the call.  The caller left no message.

It is likely that you are delinquent on some credit cards or on your mortgage. It may be that this caller is not a collector, but I heard there are people who call #s for creditors to simply check that they have a valid phone # and then they update their lists.

Just got a call from this number as well. I don't pick up unknown numbers. Sorta like how I don't open the door to just anyone that knocks. ie: solicitors

called on my cell phone,  did not leave a msg. the fact that we are all getting called on our cells is scary.  I have sprint,  does anyone else? If so,  then they are selling our numbers.

Received a call from this number on August 26, 2009 at 5:13 PM.  Did not answer it and the caller left no message.  I looked up at "Reverse 411" and the call appears to originate as a landline from Monroe, NC.  Just trying to find more information.

WRONG! I have never been delinquent on any of my bills.  And I would guess the same is true for many of those who have posted.  Frankly, I am offended by your post. This is a recorded telemarketing call, which legislation will ban (hopefully) starting September 1, 2009.

call from " INSURANCECO".....did not leave message on machine  ...prolly a scammer and certainly obnoxious & unwanted
