- Call type: Telemarketer
- Keltiereceived call from this number. Guy who was rude said he was calling about my microsoft computer, or system or something. He kind of mumbled and had an accent; when I hesitated, trying to figure out what kind of scam this was, he got rude and started saying "can you hear me? can you hear me?" loudly. A scam where the next step was sharing my passwords, I'm sure. Jerk!
- AAIGot a call from a man with an accent to our office landline. Told me to give him a "kiss, baby". I hung up right away. We often get calls from scammers, but this was on another level.
- Call type: Prank
- Pat NSupposedly Microsoft technician, my computer was "imminent danger of crashing"; he could help me by going to certain areas in my computer to fix the problem. I asked for his 800 number to verify and he wouldn't give it. Total scammer!

- kenRec'd call today at 1:20pm from 707-429-3230, a california number caller I.D. said Joshua O. Atiba. Small pause after I said hello, then Indian accent speaking fellow said, "Hello, this call is about your computer" I immediately and politely said "nice try" as I hung up the phone.
- Caller: Joshua O. Atiba
- BruceI've receiver four calls from this # today. I let my answering machine pick up the first 2. No message left. On the third call I answered and told whoever was on the other line that I didn't know him and didn't want to talk to him and hung up. There was no response from whoever called. On the fourth call I answered the phone and belched loudly into the mouthpiece. This is really getting annoying.
- KrisThis scammer is a pest. He has tried to call me 8 times today. First, he attempts to call using a private "unavailable" number. But, I have my phone set up so that any private numbers are automatically blocked by my phone company. So, when it doesn't ring through, he redials immediately using 707 429 3230. But then, ha, ha, my national robocaller blocker stops this call after 1 ring.
- PegGot a call from this no. this morning. I didn't answer, but got right on my computer to see who it was. They called again before I was even thru checking on them.
- Mark C.Man with an Indian accent called me on my cellphone saying my computer was infected and that he was a Microsoft technician. He asked me to press and hold the CTRL key then the Windows key and at that point I hung up. Nice try!
- CatIdentified himself as from Microsoft. Microsoft should go after these people. Said there was a problem with my computer. I replied "what computer?" He hung up. I was hoping to mess with him longer.
- Caller: Scammer

- Big Mean DudeMultiple calls day after day at late hours. I have requested no more calls. This must be some kind of computer sales scam. No legitimate business would operate this way. It sure is an nuisance.

- Rich in MplsCalled Cell - I didn't answer it. From the sound of the above comments that sounds like the correct action.
- Jenn Fcaller said he was calling from Microsoft - he said "Did you forget you have a contract with us, you paid us money to watch your computer?" I laughed at him and asked the exact name and address of his company and he literally ignored my question and kept repeating the same thing about our "contract".
- Elyse O.Similar situation and same person described - he called me a week ago ironically at the same time my computer was acting up, so I listened to most of his spiel, but asked for a number to call. It sounds like he's gotten a bit more sophisticated, because he gave me a 888 number and said to ask for Kevin. I didn't call it so can't confirm if he actually activated another number, but I called Microsoft support to report/confirm that he was entirely illegitimate since my computer was acting up - they confirmed that Microsoft does NOT call people (duh).
He called again today - once I picked up and got no response, but the second time seemingly the same guy launched into the same dialogue. I decided to engage in conversation out of curiosity more than anything. When I told him I had called Microsoft, he scoffed at me and insisted that he worked for the R&D team and that I had called the manufacturing department. I tried to argue that this made no sense (their support line is all-inclusive) and he kept scoffing and insisting that I didn't know what I was talking about. I then decided to ask him what computer he was referring to and he started yelling at me that it's "your computer - you need to listen to me" and I asked at least 5 times for him to confirm my IP address or computer ID name and he just kept responding with attacks about how I wasn't listening and was asking stupid questions. At that point, I was no longer entertained and asked him to remove me from his call list and hung up.
I reported him last time and will report again today, but Microsoft does have a scam report link (below) and I recommend following up there.

- Apple Computer UserI received a call from "Jay in the computer maintenance department of Microsoft Windows". He informed me that over the past several weeks there have been several hacking incidents on my computer that will make it so Microsoft Windows will no longer properly work and could shut my computer down permanently at any moment. He said that he could help me go into my computer settings and make it so the hackers could not get into my computer.
It was at this point, I informed "Jay" that I did not own a Windows computer, but only Apple computers and this call was a scam.
He hung up on me.- Caller: Jay from the computer maintenance department of Microsoft Windows
- Jan JJust got this same call on my cell. When the guy from India told me he was from Microsoft and wanted to get onto my computer, I asked "which one, and where"? He immediately hung up. MORON!!!
