Received call from female this morning.  She said she was from Sam's club regarding an old account.  I informed her I went to court 3 years ago with another collection agency and this was resolved by a local judge.  Harassment pure and simple.

No clue as to what the call was for or about, They left no voicemail.

No voicemail left.  I don't know anyone in Texas.

I get calls from Portfolio Recovery from just about every state in the country. I dont owe anything!  Doesn’t matter if I block the calls. They just call from another one.

Called, I didn't answer, no voicemail.  I'm sure it was another debt collector.

Collector call. Did not answer.

Called. Left no message. Within the same minute called again. It seems to be a new technique to try to bypass blocks or call blocker apps.

It’s probably a debt collector, but ALL my debts have been paid off by me. I owe no one any debts except car payment. Please quit calling me.  I just checked with my lawyer whose company was helping me with my debts and I’m debt free.

I received a call from this # but did not answer and no vm was left. If this is Portfolio Recovery, not long ago I was part of a class action suit against them for calling my cell phone. We won. The settlement was minimal but it's the principle that counts. So here they are again calling me on my cell phone.

The settlement was minimal.  Now just think, if you had sued them on your own, the settlement would have been in the thousands.  On top of all that they would have known who you are and would have certainly stopped calling you.  As it is, all you are is a phone number to them.  So, you can continue to complain and hope you get into the next class action lawsuit, wait 5 or more years for that huge $25 check, or you can read my other post and use that information to make them pay you big bucks.  I guess the choice is up to you now.

A person who cannot pay would draw no attention. A person like BB King who says he/she/it "ain't paying them sh*t!" sounds like a thief who deserves to be harassed.

So you must have received a call from them yourself otherwise you would not be here.  Does that mean that you are not paying your bills?  Did Portfolio prove to you not only that you owe the money, but that they have the absolute legal right to collect it?

When it comes to PRA, another good question to think about is; What would happen to them if they were to be somehow ordered to immediately make good on every single Judgment, Fine & Penalty that is still outstanding against them?
We both know the answer to that. How many of the people that they harass on a daily basis do?
