Apparently I'm going to get arrested until I call this guy back.

Foreign sounding man said I called and wanted to know how he could help me.  I DID NOT call.

Scammer:
1st flag they called, & I answered since it from an area where my business headquarters are, and man with heavy accent acted as if I called him
2nd- said he was from Federal Government then changed to IRS stating they were looking for me
3rd- rambled on about getting arrested & asked if I had an attorney for this serious situation. When I offered to provide my attorneys #, he became angry & said he'd cancel my drivers license, social security# ???, & send police to immediately arrest me unless I paid him. Do people actually fall for this BS

I just received a call (not my first either) from this #. I knew something was up when I heard that mechanical "pop" before someone got on the line. So, I hung up. I decided to call the number back and the guy asked me if my call was in response to a call that I received. To which I answered yes. He then, proceeded to tell me that I owe back taxes of about $6,000+ from 2011-2014. Ha! And that I have 2 options to rectify this matter; either hire an attorney to represent me or pay it in full, they confirm the "debt owed" and if it's incorrect, they'll provide me with a refund in the form of a cashier's check. I'm not dumb OR stupid. And when I stood my ground and demanded something in writing, the caller's initial response was "there isn't a 3rd option in this matter. either get arrested and have your debt confirmed then pay it off or get a lawyer to dispute it for you." I repeated myself and told him that I won't consider paying ANYTHING until I have something in writing in front of me. He tried to talk over me and when he noticed that I wasn't budging, he mumbled something under his breath and hung up on me :-D

I have made it my life mission to call this [***] at least 2 times a day just to give him [***], and he is not smart enough to block my number, not a very smart one

Contact Magicjack and let them know about the abuse.

Better yet, keep good records of every contact, when you first told him to stop calling, and give them to a lawyer. Many amateurs using Magicjack are on-shore and dumb enough to think it can't be traced and that they won't be sued and prosecuted. It only takes one motivated person to prove them wrong.
