They did they same thing to me, they claimed to be a Process Server. They are not. I found out that they are just a Collection Agency, like all the rest, using illegal tactics claiming that you owe money. They claim they are a Law Office, Process Server, Law Official, they are NOT. Here is their information. I filed a police report against them.

They started calling my mother's # 2 weeks ago and then my daughter in CA
saying they were from the county processor's office and needed to serve me some papers thru the local sheriff's department. The man identify's himself as "Micheal Jones, from the Sheriff's Department or Conty Processor's Office." He started with the 714 # then left an 866# that leads back to the 714# then the 866--581-6481 which answer's as ACM Group. I intend to fill a complaint with the police today.

First and foremost, nobody is a "victim" of any type of lender or loan. There is a thing called a "Truth-In-Lending" disclosure on your loan contract that tells you EXACTLY how much the credit will cost you and whether or not you can pay toward the principal amount at any time. I strongly question the intelligence and good sense of someone that reads their contract and signs without knowing what they get into.

The [***] just called me at my job about an account that was settled over a year ago. It was some latino guy claiming to be a process server working for a private agency. When I questioned him about what county court it was attempting to serve me he told me that he did not have that information. He told me that they were going to serve me tomorrow between 9 and 5 here at my job and if I wanted to change the service address, I had to call ACM. So...I called ACM and some gentleman answered the phone and yelled at me when I was trying to ask me a question. He transferred me to another man named Michael from their legal dept and that I was being served to appear in court for an old credit card account. I guess they think people are stupid or they at least need to learn other states' laws because in NC, a consumer can only be sued for child support, tax levies, or student loans. When I told him this and that I had never been contacted by them before he got upset. I proceeded to ask him for a mailing address so that I could mail him documentation that the account was settled and the [***] hung up on me.

Good for you.  I had the same exact phone call here in California.  This man said he was working for Amy (somethings) Law Office and they were calling to make sure I was home at the address 955 Montgomery.  I asked what this was regarding and his reply was they wanted to make sure I was home before they sent the sheriff over to subpena me.  I was scared at first until I googled the number.  That is when I discovered all of this happening to so many people.  I have anxiety attacks, I have a very strong medication for them because it effects my heart; and that scared me to death since I have no idea why I would be subpena'd.
    Great Job Sir

I received the same call the gentleman was very kind to inform me that a judgment on my credit is something that I don't want and if I wanted to avoid it I needed to come up with the money in a hurry. Can they really do something like this? It is the last blotch on my credit and I was saving money to make them an offer, which could still be some time. Since the way they treated me now I am very upset. Can I stop them any way?

I also received a call from this company on Tuesday of this week.  The call was left by one man that said he was calling from a Legal Office and that a complaint had been filed against me at my residence.  He proceeded to tell me my address on my voicemail.  He then asked me or my Lawyer to call them back and referenced a case number.  I of course called back thinking someone in my building had filed a complaint against me.  Come to find out they were a collections agency.  So after finding that out I was irritated that first they LIED saying they were a legal company and two that they left a very detailed message on a voicemail that they had no idea that only I could access.  Which I know both of those are illegal to do as a collections agency.

I then asked the guy if I could call him back since I was driving and would rather be at home with pen and paper to discuss this with him.  He said it was ok and that he would expect a call from me in about an hour.  Literally 15 minutes later he called me back again.  It was after that I figured I would wait to call him back until I could do some more research on the company and now I am very glad I did.  From what I read everywhere they do many illegal things and if that's the case it's definitely not a company I want to be dealing with.

They got me.  The company they used to get me in actually on my credit report and it has that they transferred the account.  Apparently, they used that to get money from me.  I have just contacted that company to ask about my account and there is NO record of it.  They have already withdrawn $1600 from my account.  I am so STUPID.  Is there anyone that can help me get the money back?  Any ideas?  I am not in California.  What do I do?  Please help.

GOOD NEWS!  I contacted my bank and they are helping to recover my loss AND contact the credit bureaus on my behalf.  I think I'm happy.  Man!  Was I stupid but I've learned...hopefully. That's alot of money to lose and it's not that I have it to lose.  This is crazy how these companies can do this to people. How can we get them?

I received a phone call on my cell phone as well as my home phone with a message that was left at my home for ACM Group.  The person on the 1-866 number threatened me and stated that a subpeona will be served to my home address as well as my job, the agency also stated that they knew where I worked and had my work address and phone number.  They are a collection agency that stated that I need to hire a lawyer that they were going to sue me in court.  A collection agency cannot sue a person in court.  if a person does not pay a credit card debt, it will stay on your credit for 7 to 10 years, after that it suppose to be erased automatically   credit bureaus are to be contacted to erase the debt.  It is used as a write off of the business or agency who gave the debt.  Also it is illegal for a collection agency to call your home after 9:00p.m. or even on Sundays, but they do it anyway, it is actually called HARASSMENT.

A "process server" calls, says they are coming to serve papers tomorrow morning... That they need to verify that I will be home.  I knew they were lying when I asked which constable would be coming by.  He stumbled and then said he was the processor. I explained to him that around here, those aren't necessary.  Caught in a lie, he hung up. I called back and got this rude guy, the same guy, which accuses me of calling his office, and a "now let me tell you."  I still DONT KNOW WHAT HE WANTS.  But, I feel afraid, and I am not going to feel afraid in my own home. How do they ever expect to serve anyone anything when they threaten people. I cannot even discover what money he is saying that I owe. When I called him back to verify his information prior to giving any personal data ie. times home, etc... he hung up in my face, telling me, "now, let me hang up on you." I didn't even hang up on him, ever, no idea what he's talking about, other than the fact that he's absolutely threatening, and CRAZY! The constable's office is now in route to my home to make a report, maybe they'll have some papers to serve me?  I am making a police report, people, this is no way to do business at all! You must first disclose what you want, unless you think you'll catch me getting in my car and beat the hell out of me and steal my purse?
