My husband's boss just got a call saying they wanted to garnish my husband's wages. They told his boss to have him call this # and reference a claim number. My husband called and they said this is from a checking account that was opened like 7 years ago (WA state) and he overdrew. The account is now CLOSED (how would they let him close it with a balance??) and they need $450 now or they'll serve him papers. I called them back and the guy was very rude and said they have record of calling my husband repeatedly and leaving message (not true) but he "is not allowed" to send me this record. My first hint this was a scam was that he didn't ask to verify any info w/ me - how can he discuss this with me if he can't prove I'm the wife? Any advice? We can't have my husband's boss being harassed...
