It's yet another lowlife scammer calling about (what else) Medic Alert, or so I've read online.  Fortunately, today's seniors aren't nearly as clueless as scammers imagine us to be.  I am able to block unlimited numbers and entire area codes through Phone Tray, and as a backup, I have a Panasonic DECT phone that can block 250 numbers if necessary.  Fight on.

I don't answer callers I don't recognize. I see this is my second medic alert scam today. One from California and the other from New York. Plus one pain cream.
I know people with the Panasonic phone that blocks 250 numbers. They set it so the phone doesn't ring at all when a blocked number calls. Wow!

The other medic alert call;
(516) 435-3217 Sprint Mobile in Nassau, NY.

Called and it said Cell Phone CA on my caller ID.
Didn't answer it and they left no message.

Had area code blocked but, reverse lookup says paging (robo) from Anaheim CA. I usually find that out of state calls with a CID saying 'Cell Phone,' you can bet it's a scam of some sort…...

We've gotten at least a half-dozen calls from these jerks over the past two weeks.  We hang up as soon as we hear the opening statement, but they call again a day or two later.

Didn't answer before 4th ring - they were gone by then.  The ID showed 'local'.

Started getting calls from this Anaheim area number again.  Medic Alert scam.  I just don't answer and then I block the number, once it quits ringing.  Problem is they begin using another similar number and the problem starts over again.  THe blocking usually is effective for about 3 weeks before the scam software switches to another number.

I guess they don't realize it but they are helping Panasonic sales.  I am trading in my old Panasonic which only blocks 30 for the new one mentioned above.  

This number had the ID as LOCAL.  Not if you live in TX it isnt

Call ID just read "Local". I only push "talk" and the "end" when I don't recognize a number. So, that is what I did.

 I just got a call which I will add or have already added to my block list.  I will now get no ring but I will be able to get list of blocked calls on my phone.

I  got a call blocker that allows blocking 10 area codes and 1500 phone numbers plus Private, Unknown, and Out of Area calls.  

Call came through marked "local" with an area code that clearly was not local, so I let it go to the answering machine.  "We can't come to the phone right now.  If you are not a telephone solicitor, charity or political caller, please leave a message after the tone."  No message left.

I am in the 704 area code and my call came in as local with a 714 prefix.

The number in question isn't as persistent as others selling Medical Alert.  This number only calls about once every two weeks.   The AARP calls a couple times a week.

If the day ever comes that politician runs on a platform of getting rid of these robo calls and charities I will vote for him or her.   Until then I will let the phone ring...  Ha Ha!

I got two in two days - yesterday 6439 said "local", day before 6421 just says "number".  Bleh.
